Cadbury Dairy Milk is a household name. People around me know that I have a sweet tooth, and I love (in a head-over-heels-kind-of-way) chocolates. Cadbury chocolate is my best friend and I always make sure to stock up my fridge with my favourite original milk chocolate flavour and Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut.

For a start, let me tell you more about the Marvellous Creations from Cadbury Dairy Milk. Unlike the usual Cadbury chocolates that come with nuts, the Marvellous Creations are filled with the wackiest possible ingredients: Jelly Crunchie Bits, Jelly Popping Candy Beanies, and Peanut Toffee Cookie. We are very lucky that Singapore is the second country in the world (after Australia) to have the Marvellous Creations. Trust me on this. You need to get them and try it for yourself.

Tim Ho Wan, the cheapest 1 Michelin Star dim sum restaurant from Hong Kong, is opening in Singapore at The Atrium @ Orchard, Plaza Singapura today. Opened by Chef Mak Kwai Pui (previously from Lung King Heen at Four Seasons Hong Kong), Tim Ho Wan has gained a strong following over the years and long queues are a common sight at his restaurants.

SPRMRKT prides itself on redefining your local supermarket experience. It is a space where food, retail and art mingle together. You can enjoy a cosy meal at the bistro while shopping for daily necessities and random gifts.

The food is simple and unpretentious. There are two menus at SPRMRKT. The all-day breakfast menu dishes out the usual favourites such as Eggs Benedict ($14) and Breakfast Croissant ($7) everyday. The ala carte menu, on the other hand, changes daily and it offers a selection of salads, soup, and mains. Most of the items are priced reasonably below $20. For those who are working in the central business district, SPRMRKT is a nice place to grab a quick lunch.

Laduree to open in Singapore on 15 April

It is about time. Laduree, the famous French Patisserie, is finally opening in Singapore at Takashimaya on 15 April 2013. Australia got their first Laduree store in September last year. Even Hong Kong got it earlier than us when Laduree opened a store at Harbour City last December. Now, we can finally satisfy our macarons cravings without having to fly to Paris. I am so excited about the opening of Laduree in Singapore. I am pretty sure that there will be a long queue for at least the first few weeks, and I hope that this will start a new macaron trend here.

I just returned from Amsterdam, and it was a fabulous holiday. I have to thank KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for making it possible. Amsterdam is more than just the Red Light District or for dope-selling “coffee shops”, there are plenty of things that you can see, do and eat.
