Tin Lung Heen The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong

Tin Lung Heen

At level 102 of The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, Tin Lung Heen is probably one of the highest, if not the highest, Chinese restaurants in the world. While there are plenty of good Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong, Tin Lung Heen is a popular venue as it not only delivers a modern interpretation of Cantonese food, it also has a spectacular view of Hong Kong.

Amsterdam with KLM

I just returned from Amsterdam, and it was a fabulous holiday. I have to thank KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for making it possible. Amsterdam is more than just the Red Light District or for dope-selling “coffee shops”, there are plenty of things that you can see, do and eat. I could easily spend hours telling you about it, but I am going to cut to the chase and share with you my list of 10 Things to Do in Amsterdam.

And at the end of this post, I will also be sharing how you can win some exciting prizes from KLM, including a pair of tickets to any KLM destination in the world!

Editor’s Note April 2013

Travelling

Travelling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.

I have always advocated seeing the world because there are no nother ways to educate and better yourself than to get out of your comfort zone and be awed by the vast horizons and boundless skies of the world.

In 2012, I vowed to visit a city once a month, I accomplished it, and was beyond pleased with myself. 2013 has kick-started well with a few trips by far, and a few more planned for the next quarter. In the month of April, we celebrate travelling, because we all deserve to learn.

Expect articles on travelling on a budget, where to stay, packing tips, places to eat and postcards from the cities worth visiting. I am a voyager, and I will always want to be one. You can, too. Here’s to leading a fulfilling life and seeing the world to enrich ourselves.

Have a happy April!

Bollywood Veggies & Poison Ivy Bistro Singapore

Bollywood Veggies

Words by Melody Yap, photographs by ladyironchef

Living in a cosmopolitan city like Singapore pretty much equates being in a rat race everyday. Work days are ever fast-paced and stressful, and so demanding on us physically, emotionally and mentally. We spend more than half the week working, and we hardly get to treat ourselves to a full day of relaxation. Weekends are hence so coveted and precious, and more often than not, we countdown to the two full days to indulge in the activities to recharge ourselves.

And staying in a city means all sorts of modernity – we shop, we read, we wine and dine, we catch a movie or stay home to watch drama serials, we go for a swim or practice yoga… but we missed out embracing the rural goodness that Singapore has to offer. Maybe you never knew, but at an unassuming corner of Singapore is a countryside so beautiful and peaceful, you’d never find fresher air – Kranji Countryside.

So it is back to basics in a rustic environment. We spent a Saturday afternoon at Bollywood Veggies, and the quietness brought much calmness to our souls.

Amsterdam

I am currently at Amsterdam on a press trip by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and it has been a really wonderful experience so far. From taking a stroll by the beautiful canals, to eating fries with awesome Joppiesaus, and visiting the museums – there are so many things to do in Amsterdam. Here are some of the photos that I have taken during this trip.

HKK London

HKK London

Good Chinese food and restaurants are aplenty in London, but I have always found a general lack of variety in the food they serve. Whilst the food are tasty, finding the same few items on the menu in most restaurants can leave one relatively bored of Chinese cuisine after a while. So, you ask, where can one satisfy a Chinese cuisine craving and be pleasantly surprised by the meal at the same time? Well, if you are willing to splurge a little, I’d definitely recommend HKK London.

3 Reasons to Visit Rome

Rome

Last October, my partner and I had the pleasure of visiting Rome for the very first time. We spent a few days in the Eternal City and while it was a relatively short stay, we managed to explore and eat our way around the city pretty well.

Pantheon

I have always been fascinated with the Roman history. Having read and heard so many things about Rome, it was my dream to visit the city. Like they say: All roads lead to Rome. I am very glad that I finally had the chance to see the city for myself.

If you are planning a trip to Europe, Rome should be at the top of your to-go list. It is worth visiting for a few reasons.
