Fika Swedish Cafe At Arab Street Is Closing After 17 Years

Fika Swedish Cafe

Fika Swedish Café & Bistro has announced that it will be closing its doors on 14 August 2026 after 17 years, marking the end of an era for the homegrown café that introduced many Singaporeans to authentic Swedish cuisine and the tradition of fika, a leisurely coffee break enjoyed with pastries and good company.

Fika desserts

Located along Beach Road since 2008, Fika built a loyal following with its cosy, Scandinavian-inspired space and hearty halal Swedish fare. Signature dishes such as Swedish meatballs, seafood stew, pytt i panna and freshly baked cinnamon buns have made it a favourite among regulars over the years.

Swedish Brownie

Long before Nordic cafés became commonplace, Fika was introducing diners to Swedish flavours and culture in a warm, welcoming setting. It has remained one of the few halal Swedish restaurants in Singapore throughout its journey.

Meat Ball

Whether it’s for a plate of Swedish meatballs or one last fika with friends, the beloved café will certainly be missed by many.
