7 Korean Supermarkets In Singapore To Buy Korean Snacks & Groceries

Korean Marts In Singapore

The massive (and sudden) influx of Korean pop culture—or the ‘Korean wave’—decades back, left a very deep and lasting impact on Singapore. Both the old and the younger generations saw themselves giving in to the allure of all things South Korean.

The influence of the Korean wave sparked a change in many people’s lifestyle habits. More importantly, many people saw themselves becoming obsessed with Korean cuisine, judging from the increased number of Korean stalls opening in food courts and many Korean restaurants sprouting out all around the island.

But dining out at these restaurants can be pricey, which is why we are grateful for the existence of Korean supermarkets which allow us to recreate our favourite South Korean dishes at home.

Here are 7 Korean Supermarkets In Singapore that you can count on to provide you with all the Korean food items you will ever need.

Koryo Mart

#1 KORYO MART

Koryo Mart is tucked away in a relatively unnoticable corrner along Lorong Kilat, just a short walk away from Beauty World train station. They stock up primarily on food items here which is great if you are looking to whip up some korean fare in your own home, or simply buy precooked ones if you are feeling lazy.

Besides food, they carry an excellent range of Soju and beers as well.

Sol Mart
#2 SOL MART

On the outside, Sol Mart may seem rather small but to our amazement, they have a huge range of Korean goods available. The things sold there were pretty similar to other Korean supermarkets but what intrigued us most was the cold section.

Just walking down the rows of freezers got us excited. Loads and loads of marinated meats waiting to be thawed and grilled. Korean barbecue to satisfy late night hunger pangs, anyone?

Sol Mart stocks up on pretty much everything and anything Korean. From dumplings and noodles to cosmetics, and even decorative ornaments too.

Shine Korea Supermarket

#3 SHINE KOREA SUPERMARKET

While Korean supermarkets have sprung up more frequently in recent years, Shine Korea Supermarket outlets were one of the earliest to emerge in Singapore.

Despite its seemingly small size when viewed from the outside, as well as its rather obscure location in Burlington Square, this supermarket is packed with a wide range of authentic Korean goods.

Shine Korean Supermarket Canned Drinks

Particularly impressive are its enormous shelves jam-packed with assorted Korean instant noodles—the variety here is unbeatable. The store also sells Korean snacks, drinks, and other preserved condiments. If you want to try your hand at whipping up Korean cuisine, this will be a good stop since it has close to everything.

Seoul Mart

#4 SEOUL MART

Tucked away in an obscure corner at the basement of Parkway Parade lies, Seoul Mart. They stock up on the basic food items, however, considering how the space is pretty big, it was not filled with as much variety as the other Korean supermarket outlets.

One thing to note is that service is almost non-existent here. There is usually only one staff on duty and you will have to actively seek assistance.
