Nokia Ovi App Wizard Singapore

Do you feel uneasy without your handphone?

We’re always on our mobile phones checking emails, playing games, stalking people on Facebook, and updating Twitter. In addition, I always like to read my favourite food blogs on the phone to kill time while travelling. But mobile web browser isn’t optimised to read websites, especially those with huge data and big photos.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the Nokia Ovi Wizard workshop organised by Nuffnang. It was interesting to learn the insights about mobile applications from the Nokia folks, and they even taught us how to publish our blog as a free mobile app on the spot!

Now that I have created my own app for my food blog, I’m going to teach you how to create a FREE mobile application in minutes by using the Nokia Ovi app wizard.

Okay first, make your way to http://oviappwizard.com

Ovi app RSS feed

Step 1: Enter the URL of your web content feed

The emulator by the right will allow you to preview the RSS feed of your blog instantly.

Customise Ovi App

Step 2: Customise your app

Here’s the fun part, we get to decide how the mobile application looks like. Begin with your application name, choose a logo, background colour, frame background and text colour. After finishing the customisation, you will need to create an app wizard account.

Mobile Advertising

Step 3: Monetize your application with advertising (optional)

For those who are keen to earn some allowance, you can choose to monetise the application with mobile advertising. Note this is completely optional.

Ovi Publisher Information

Step 4: Add in the publishing information and description

We have reached the last step to create the Nokia Ovi app. It’s so easy right?

Come up with a short app description for the Ovi Store, and include some keywords to describe your blog’s content. Finally, select the app category (eg: lifestyle, entertainment) and the Nokia Mobile Ovi Application is ready to go!

Once you are satisfied with the final version of the Nokia Ovi app, you can preview it by clicking “view in emulator” before submitting to the Ovi Store. It will probably take a few days for your application to go through the Ovi Store approval process. An email notification will be sent once the app is ready for download on the Ovi Store.

I know many of you are interested to use the app for your blog – with Nokia Ovi app wizard, you can now create a free mobile app in minutes.
