That’s it. We’re calling off our diet. How does one eat clean when KFC exists? This year, they’ve been spoiling us silly with the most sinful, delicious treats. We don’t know how they’re coming up with all these amazing creations but we’re certainly not complaining.

First, it was the Spicy Nyonya Chicken. Then, it was the shell-less Kentaco. And if those weren’t guilt-inducing enough, they brought back their crispy chicken skin.

And now, they’re incorporating culinary flavours from the land of smiles into their signature fried chicken. Not travelling to Thailand any time soon? The newest KFC Spicy Thai Crunch will surely satisfy your cravings.

KFC is bringing the taste of Thailand to our very doorstep.

Feast your eyes on KFC’s Spicy Thai Crunch.

You don’t need to be a gourmand to know that Thai flavours are all about the spices and heat. If you’re an absolute slave for Thai food, you’re in for a treat. Set your lips on fire with KFC’s Spicy Thai Crunch, a Thai-inspired spicy fried chicken creation.

This feisty dish features KFC’s Signature Hot & Crispy Chicken glazed with a mouthwatering spicy Thai sauce and sprinkled generously with citrusy, rice crisps.

The secret to this fantastic dish is really, the rice crisps. Spiked with a tastefully sour spice combo of galangal, lemongrass, garlic and onion, these bits of goodness completely elevate the dish.

Now, comes the billion-dollar question — how does it taste?

Just like the rest of KFC’s fried chicken, its batter was shatteringly crispy. The crunch was elevated by the addition of the zesty crisps, which had a strong lemongrass-galangal profile. The chicken itself was juicy and tender, from the drumstick down to the breast meat.

As for the spiciness level, the heat doesn’t hit you right away, and rises steadily like a coastal wave. The climax of its spicy kick isn’t unbearable, though. The heat is also balanced out by the aromatic seasoning, which is truly aroy mak mak.

The KFC Spicy Thai Crunch is available in stores now! They come in various meal bundles such as the Spicy Thai Crunch 2pc Meal (S$8.95).

American and Korean fried chickens get a lot of attention, and not so much their Thai counterpart. But, with this new creation, we can see the tables turning very soon.

KFC Spicy Thai Crunch will available at all KFC restaurants except KFC Kidzania and Singapore Zoo.

This post was brought to you by KFC Singapore.

Along the picturesque side of Esplanade mall, Noosh Noodle Bar & Grill—a halal-certified restaurant which specialises in ModSin cuisine—is one of the many dining destinations located along the boardwalk.

Opened by renowned Chef Ummi Abdullah, who is incidentally also the person behind the success of Ambeng Cafe, this chic classy restaurant serves up a plethora of not only attractive noodle and grill dishes but also tantalising desserts and mocktails.

Perhaps one of the most popular, as well as the most innovative dish, their Smoked Duck Lemak Chilli Padi Pasta (S$18.90) pays homage to the traditional Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi. Just like the original, this dish is fiery, much so that the waiters even warned us as we ordered it.

This dish is a super savoury coconut-based gravy, with warm pasta neatly twirled in the middle, and generously topped with smoked duck, arugula and cherry tomatoes. Don’t be so quick to dismiss the vegetables. The gravy is packed full of heat that’s only quelled by the fresh tart vegetables. The smoked duck meat was tender and juicy, though the smoked flavour was a little overwhelmed by the gravy.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

Despite being a noodle-focused restaurant, their rice dishes delivered fairly well too. The last dish we ordered was their Noosh Bulgogi Chicken (S$14.90). It’s a classic bowl of stir-fried chicken in teriyaki sauce served over rice. Unpretentious and simple, the warm bowl of rice was nothing short of comforting and soothing.

The sauce to rice ratio was also just right, and made for a moist savoury bite, with honest chunks of chicken and sticky caramelised onions.

Located along the prime area facing Singapore’s iconic skylines, Noosh Noodle Bar & Grill is one of the more affordable restaurants around with plenty of tasty enticing modern Singapore specialities.

Spice lovers will always love the heat from the food that makes one’s face blush, sweat trickle and stomach churn from dusk till dawn. No matter how torturous it may sound, the excitement we get from eating spicy food will make the fiery blast that awaits us seemingly enjoyable.

Many of us absolutely love spicy food, yet our bodies cannot take the heat. However, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. Believe it or not, spice tolerance can actually be built up over time.

There are some dining establishments in Singapore where you can choose the spice level of your food—an excellent idea for those who simply want to challenge themselves. If you are someone like that, we have compiled a list of 11 places in Singapore where you can up your spice level on your next visit if you are tired of playing it safe.

CURRY HOUSE COCO ICHIBANYA

Curry House Coco ICHIBANYA has over 1400 outlets worldwide and it is the place to go to whenever any craving for Japanese curry kicks in and luckily for us, there are five outlets in Singapore. While Coco Ichibanya’s menu ranges from curry rice to salad and pasta, their Japanese curry is the one that will steal your heart.

Diners get to customise their spice level from level 1 to level 5 for their curry rice set—daredevils should go ahead and order the highest level. It may not be the spiciest curry out there, but it will definitely leave you perspiring from the fiery heat.

GU THAI NOODLE CAFÉ

Thai food is just not the same without the intense spice level. Nestled in POMO, Gu Thai Noodle Café serves Thai Boat Noodles from just S$1.90, and we promise you that their Thai chilli packs a punch.

Diners can choose from level 1 to level 3, but we suggest you opt for no spice first as you would be able to help yourself to the Thai chilli at every table. We aren’t joking when we say that their Thai chilli could potentially leave you in tears, so being generous with their Thai chilli may not be the smartest idea.

MA LA XIANG GUO

Many of us should be familiar with the lingering heat tingling on our lips and the numbing sensation that comes after having Ma La Xiang Guo. Choose between mild, medium and very spicy for every bowl of Ma La Xiang Guo that you are having!

The level of spiciness varies across different Ma La Xiang Guo stalls in Singapore and most will have you begging for mercy after a few mouthfuls.
