Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge

Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge Singapore

// Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge is now closed

After having lunch at Paradise Dynasty, we wandered around Orchard in search for an afternoon tea place. I don’t fancy the new Marmalade Pantry at Ion Orchard, the space is too open and you can’t even hold a private conversation there. In any case, it was full (on a weekday afternoon), and so was TWG Tea Salon which had a queue outside.

We ended up at Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge at Takashimaya – and yes, the place was also packed. Don’t people need to work on weekdays?

Afternoon Tea at The Regent Singapore Tea Lounge

Afternoon Tea Regent Singapore

All my friends who have been to the Tea Lounge @ The Regent Singapore’s for their afternoon tea, have been raving about it. Many of them even go to the extent of calling it one of the best afternoon tea in Singapore. Naturally, I’m curious if The Regent Tea Lounge is worth all the hype.

In my previous post on Jewel Artisan Chocolate’s Afternoon Tea, I’ve mentioned that there’s a difference between Afternoon Tea and High Tea.

At The Regent Singapore’s Tea Lounge, they have both the traditional English Afternoon Tea ($38++) with the desserts/pastries/sandwiches on a 3 tier dessert stand during weekdays, and a local high tea buffet ($52++) on weekends.

Jewel Artisan Chocolate Afternoon High Tea Singapore

Jewel Artisan Chocolate Orchard Central

Sometimes, all it takes is chocolate and cake to make me happy. I’m very sure that I’m not the only one who feels this way, so if you like chocolate and cake too, you should drop by Jewel Artisan Chocolate for their afternoon high tea.

They are located on the second level of Orchard Central. At just $14.80++, I’d think that Jewel Artisan Chocolate has a pretty value for money tea set for those who are not willing to splurge $38++/pax to have afternoon tea at a Five Star Hotel.

Dessert Buffet at One Ninety Four Seasons Singapore

One Ninety Dessert Buffet Singapore

“I know a place that has the potential to be the best dessert buffet in Singapore, but I’m not telling anyone until I check it out.”

I tweeted this about two weeks ago, and I think it’s time to let the world know about the Dessert Buffet at One Ninety Restaurant Four Seasons Singapore. If you are lazy to read this post, just know two things: a) the dessert buffet is $12++ $18++/pax, and b) it is available from Monday to Friday 12.30pm – 2.30pm 2pm – 3.30pm.

Ootoya Orchard Central Japanese Restaurant Singapore

Ootoya Japanese Restaurant Singapore

As I was walking in Orchard Central, I suddenly realized that it is actually a pretty nice place for dining. First of all, Orchard Central is relatively quiet compared to the other shopping malls in Orchard Singapore, and most importantly, there are a lot of restaurants in Orchard Central!

The funny thing is: Ootoya Japanese Restaurant is the only restaurant in Orchard Central that has a queue. In case you are wondering how to find a way around this, no, they don’t take reservations. You need to be there early before lunch/dinner time, or just wait (at least) twenty-thirty minutes for a table.

Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie Desserts Singapore

Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie

Updated on 25 Aug 2014: Canele Patisserie is now closed.

I have been eating a lot of cakes recently. Hold on, please allow me to rephrase that: I eat a lot of cakes all the time, but recently, I have been having them way too often.

Canele Patisserie currently has three locations: Robertson Walk, Orchard Paragon and Shaw Centre. It has been a long time since my last visit, but it’s mainly because I wanted to check out the other patisseries in Singapore. Are you game for more cakes?
