Out of the Pan Raffles City Singapore

Out of the Pan

Out of the Pan at the basement of Raffles City is one of those places that I’ve always walked past, but never thought of trying. I finally went there one day, and the food was surprisingly good. The Banana Spilt Waffles ($14), in particular, was outstanding and one of the best I’ve had on our little island. The Chocolate Mania Crepe ($14) and Peking Duck Crepe ($15.50) were also very good.

The good news is DBS credit/debit card holders get to enjoy 1-for-1 promotion for waffles and crepes. The offer is available all day from Sunday to Thursday (10am – 10pm).

Strangers’ Reunion

Strangers Reunion

In recent times, we have seen an explosion of cafes opening at remote areas, and one of them is Strangers’ Reunion at Kampong Bahru Road.

Strangers’ Reunion is no stranger (pun intended) to coffee-lovers. It is opened by Ryan Kieran Tan, Singapore National Barista Champion 2011 & 2012. If you are looking for a nice coffee joint to hang out with your friends, add Strangers’ Reunion to your list of cafes to visit.

Group Therapy Cafe Duxton Road

Group Therapy Cafe

One of the newest cafes to open in the trendy Duxton Hill area, Group Therapy Cafe is a space tucked away on the 2nd storey of a reconstructed shophouse.

Even though I’ve been to the Duxton Hill area many times, I’ve never noticed them until my friend told me about it. Just in case you are wondering where they are located, the cafe is directly above Etna Italian restaurant on Duxton road.

I fell in love as I stepped inside the cafe. It is one of those places that you would find it impossible not to like. Definitely one of my new favourite cafes in Singapore.

Jean-Philippe Darcis Marina Bay Sands

Jean-Philippe Darcis

Note: Jean-Philippe Darcis is now closed.

I have been on a mission to try all the afternoon high tea places in Singapore. One would imagine that there are plenty of nice dessert places to go for a leisure afternoon tea. But the problem is, I have been to most of them, and sometimes, I end up going to the usual ones because there are only that few high tea places in town.

After having dim sum at Paradise Pavilion, my partner-in-crime and I were greedy for more food, and we I suddenly thought of the macarons at Jean-Philippe Darcis, Marina Bay Sands. Life is good when you have desserts after dim sum.

Udders Ice Cream Singapore

Udders Ice Cream Singapore

I meant to blog about U.d.d.e.r.s Ice Cream during October as I was enjoying my ice cream every day (excuse: sorching hot weather), but obviously I didn’t. What I really wanted to tell you was this: no matter what you are doing, please remember to have your ice cream.

Udders ice cream is a local homegrown ice cream shop in Singapore that is famous for their ‘adult’ ice cream. If you like liqueur in your ice cream, you will like Udders ice cream.
