Hui Lau Shan is a household name in Hong Kong and is well-loved for their wide range of desserts and drinks, especially mango desserts.
Their presence in Hong Kong is quite possibly the strongest for you would find an outlet (or two, or more) at every neighbourhood. It is also something that we always eat whenever we are in the Pearl of the Orient.
Hui Lau Shan was once in Singapore and that was about a decade ago. But they didn’t make it then, and rumours had it that it was way too pricey and the standards were not there. But we do not dwell on the past; we rejoice because they are returning in 2020!
Hui Lau Shan is known for their mango desserts that come in various forms—think Mango Sago, Mango Mochi, Mango Shake, Mango Pudding, Mango everything… They also have many other fruit-based desserts and platters, and Chinese tong shui.
We don’t know much about the Singapore menu yet, but we are hoping the second time’s a charm—that they won’t be too expensive again, and would live up to the standards they have set in Hong Kong since the 1960′s.
The new Hui Lau Shan outlet in Singapore is going to be located in Chinatown Point.
