The most convenient way to get durians these days is either through home delivery or to buy them from local supermarkets and roadside durian stalls. Singaporeans take their national fruit seriously and many of us are unable to accept poor-quality durians.
It is not surprising to see locals crossing the border to our neighbouring country in search of excellent durians—many are even willing to travel all the way to durian farms in Malaysia.
As durian tours are gaining immense popularity, some farms also provide accommodation so that guests are able to stay overnight. A durian staycation? Yes, we kid you not!
