New indie cafes are sprouting everywhere, and if you are on a quest to find good coffee in Singapore, you should definitely drop by Jimmy Monkey Cafe & Bar, an Australian-style Cafe at One-North Residences.
The owner of the place Michael, is from Australia, and after living here for the past ten years, he decided to go on a journey to bring the Melbourne coffee experience to Singapore.
Since taste is subjective, it’s hard to say if Jimmy Monkey has the best coffee in town, but one thing is for sure: they are very passionate about coffee – you can feel free to chat with Michael to discuss about the beverage.
On the food side, you can find French toast with maple syrup, breakfast sandwich, home made toasted muesli with yogurt on the lunch menu; truffle potato fries, rib eye steak sandwich, smoked salmon spaghetti, and beer battered fish & chips on the dinner menu. During weekends, they also have big breakfast, and eggs benedict for brunch.

Been there a couple of times since it’s near my office. Have to say the service is pretty bad; or rather, non-existent.
Been there once & I walked out of the cafe smelling like a walking kitchen. The ventilation is pretty bad. The smell from exhaust lingers on your clothes the moment you step into the cafe
Big Jimmy Monkey fan! Take a moment to chat with the staff, they are a great group of people! Ventilation was just redone over Xmas, so it’s no longer an issue, although personally I loved the smell of bacon that used to permeate through the place. No where in Singapore that makes me feel as welcome being a “regular.”
