Known for its charcoal waffles with salted egg yolk sauce, FATCAT Ice Cream Bar is a popular ice cream shop in Bedok and it has just opened a new outlet, FATCAT Ice Cream & Coffee Boutique, at 15 Simon Road which is just a short walk from Kovan MRT Station.

Following the opening of Naked Ice Cream and The Humble Scoop, FATCAT Ice Cream & Coffee Boutique is the third ice cream shop to open in the Kovan neighbourhood this year.

FATCAT Ice Cream & Coffee Boutique has opened its door to the public with a soft launch on 16 Dec 2021, while the official opening will be on FATCAT’s 7th Anniversary on 01 Jan 2022!

The new outlet in Kovan is for takeaway only and there is no dine-in area. As such, they will not be serving their signature charcoal waffles here. What you can expect is a range of ice cream flavours including their latest Christmas selection.

A single scoop of ice cream is priced at S$4.50 while double scoops are S$8.50. Add on S$1 for freshly-baked cones.

Other than ice cream, the new boutique will also be offering coffee (S$4 for black coffee, and S$5 for white coffee) using a blend of Ethiopian and Colombian beans, as well as Milkshake cold brews (S$8) and refreshing Yuzu soda (S$7).

Pop by the new outlet to enjoy ice-cream and coffee from 1pm- 10pm daily (closed on Tue). They open until 11pm on Fri & Sat.

Sunday Folks is the sister cafe of Creamier and might we say one of the best success stories to come from an ice cream cafe here in Singapore. Opened in February 2019, Denzy Gelato is a relatively new addition to the slew of cafes serving ice cream and waffles. Be that as it may, this humble cafe nestled under an HDB is worth a visit not just for its affordability but also their range of flavours.

A waffle with ice cream set will set you back by just S$8—try out their premium flavours (+S$1) including Elderflower Mojito Sorbet and Persian Peach, in which the latter is made using saffron and almond.

A cafe that needs no further introduction, Hatter Street serves one of the best renditions of waffles with ice cream in Singapore.

Serving a plethora of savoury mains and sweet bites at affordable prices is Wimbly Lu, a gem of a cafe tucked away in Serangoon. A whole waffle and a scoop of ice cream and sauce of your choice costs just S$8.50.

Waffletown at Balmoral Plaza is a family-owned retro fast food restaurant that has been serving American food such as burgers, fried chicken and Belgian waffles for the last thirty odd years in Singapore.

Order up a signature Belgium waffles topped with ice cream (S$4.20). Their desserts are quite possibly the most basic rendition of ice cream and waffles—and likely the cheapest—in Singapore.

Routesixtysix is a small yet cosy cafe and it is situated just across the street from FATCAT Ice Cream Bar.
