Run by the same guys behind the now-defunct Ronin and Punch at North Canal Road, Gather is their new concept at Raffles Hotel Arcade that opened its doors on the 1st of February.

Gather serves both sweet and savoury French crêpes, sandwiches, baked goods, coffee and other beverages. Being a treat loved by most, crêpes are no stranger to us, but what makes Gather stand out amongst the rest? Read on to find out!

Being situated in a British colonial designed building, Gather boasts an old-school charm. The simple interior and open concept was inviting and comfortable; it is a cosy place to unwind and spend some private time.

They have a merchandise corner as well for those who might be interested in take-homes such as soap, fragrance oil and so on.

We had the Parma Ham (S$18) that came with Italian parma ham, Gruyère, cheddar and egg. It was absolutely delightful with a crispy outer layer and when layered and folded, it had a chewy and fluffy texture. The parma ham and cheeses paired well with the light batter, while the egg in the middle helped to reduce the saltiness.

You’d expect this combination to be too overwhelming with sodium that it might be cloyingly sick but we promise you, it isn’t.

You get to witness the skilful crêpe making process over the counter as they freshly prepare it upon ordering at their open-concept kitchen.

Currently, they have six types of savoury and three types of sweet crêpes on their menu. Main or dessert, up to you!

Breakfast is never complete without a cuppa. The White (S$5 for 5oz) had a nice froth and was fragrant, but no wow-factor from it nor a differentiating flavour from other coffee shops. Still, it is a decent cup of coffee for a casual caffeine fix.

The crêpe itself was enough to make us want to revisit this cafe again. Good ambience and great hospitality from the staff there! They were really cheerful, welcoming and polite, constantly making sure everything was of satisfaction and made appropriate recommendations.

Also, they are still in their soft launch period until the 5th of February where payment is by a tipping basis to pay-as-you-like. Give these guys a visit ASAP for some great food and vibes!

Thin and delicate, the heavenly French crêpe is a traditional age-old delicacy well-loved by French natives and discerning foodies all over the world.

The galette was first created several centuries ago in Brittany, and till date, it remains an integral part of French cuisine. The classic dish is so symbolic that the French actually celebrate “Crepe Day” every 2nd February with Candlemas.

The popularity of French crêpes has extended beyond its hometown’s frontiers and word of this delightful treat has inspired many to open up crêperies even in non-European cities. Unsurprisingly, food-centric Singapore has jumped onto the French crêpe bandwagon and multiple specialty crêpe stores have sprouted across the island.

We have shortlisted a mouthwatering selection of affordable savoury French galettes and sweet mille crêpes that are worth your cash and calories. From galette specialty O Comptoir’s Ménage à 5 crepe (S$16.50++) to EwF By Everything With Fries’ Nutella Crêpe (S$6.90), we are thrilled to present to you our Guide to the 9 Crêpes in Singapore. Bon appetit!

Parisian patisserie Antoinette needs no further introduction. The beautiful cafe is renowned for its gorgeous French pastries and bakes. And they do pretty good mains, too.

If you are looking for a substantial savoury main, give their Crepe Nordic (S$19++) a shot! It is essentially a soft and flat galette stuffed with smoked salmon, red onions, capers and dill cream cheese.

Having sampled Lady M desserts from both New York City and Singapore, we are thrilled that the signature mille crepe in Singapore is equally divine as its flagship store.

Say Bons is no newcomer in Singapore’s creperie industry. In fact, we have been patronising the humble French eatery since our school days!

Crepes sold at Say Bons are extremely wallet-friendly and has proved that budget snacks can be scrumptious too. Each fragrant crepe is cooked to order and we recommend the delightfully soft nutella and banana crepe (S$4.20).

Tucked away in the basement of Orchard Central is a relatively unnoticeable store called The Green Rabbit. Admittedly, the Cheesy Tuna Crepe (S$5.50) we ordered looked unappealing and we were not expecting much. However, we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the tender savoury crepe turned out to be! Indeed, one should never judge a book by its cover.

The Daily Roundup at The Working Capitol – one of the hottest co-working spaces in Singapore - serves a simple purpose of offering fresh food and coffee. The menu is conceptualised by Chef Bruno Menard, and the star dish has to be their great selection of both sweet and savoury crepes. We love the space for its free wifi and minimalistic interior.

Great ambience, laid back vibes; that is what you will get at The Daily Roundup.

Before making a trip down here, we were salivating at pictures of their crepes posted on Instagram with only-positive captions. Little did we know that biting into these crepes could be so delightful. The pictures did not lie; they make great crepes.

We chose the Yuzu Butter Crepe (S$10) as it seemed like the most interesting of the lot. We have to admit that S$10 was slightly pricey, but the prices here are all nett.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

The yuzu butter melted on the warm and freshly-made crepe shortly after it was being placed on our table. The distinct yuzu flavour was extremely concentrated, despite how simple it looked. You can choose to top up S$4 for a scoop of ice cream.

There are several other sweet and savoury crepe options. Some popular ones are Salted Caramel Crepe (sweet) and Completè Chorizo (savoury).

Every good cafe should serve great coffee and thankfully, The Daily Roundup gives us one more reason to return back with their pleasing cuppa.

Out of the Pan at the basement of Raffles City is one of those places that I’ve always walked past, but never thought of trying. I finally went there one day, and the food was surprisingly good. The Banana Spilt Waffles ($14), in particular, was outstanding and one of the best I’ve had on our little island. The Chocolate Mania Crepe ($14) and Peking Duck Crepe ($15.50) were also very good.

The good news is DBS credit/debit card holders get to enjoy 1-for-1 promotion for waffles and crepes. The offer is available all day from Sunday to Thursday (10am – 10pm).
