Japanese restaurant Kuro Maguro located at level one of the all-newTanjong Pagar Centre is a new initiative by Japanese maguro and sashimi wholesaler Misaki Megumi Suisan.
Kuro Maguro is the second restaurant opened by the same people behind Maguro-Donya Miura-Misaki-Kou Sushi & Dining in Suntec City.
The restaurant’s name translates to Bluefin Tuna, which is one of the most popular fish used for sashimi and sushi in Japan. Specialising in maguro donburi, you can expect prices to range between S$20 to S$40.
Sushiro might be less than a year old, but the unassuming Japanese eatery has already established itself as one of the most successful F&B tenants in Upper Thomson. Regardless of whether it is a weekday or weekend, queues are formed outside Sushiro every day (except Tuesday). We have visited several times and are impressed by its affordability and consistency.
Everyone comes here for Sushiro’s awesome value-for-money Bara Chirashi Don (S$12.80). Foodies in the know and Upper Thomson dwellers would tell you that it is worth the wait.
Kinsa sushi has just introduced a special Purple Fusion menu which consists of 8 maki rolls, 1 sushi and 1 #ChirashiCupcake - all of which are prepared with purple rice.
While these creations are beautiful to look at, a good point to note is that purple rice is brimming with vast health benefits, and is definitely a healthier option as opposed to regular white rice.
