Hasbro—the developer of My Little Pony’s franchise—is collaborating with Kumoya to present My Little Pony:A Magical Cuteness pop-up Cafe in Singapore.

On My Little Pony’s inspired menu, there are 6 snacks, 5 mains, 3 desserts and 11 drinks to choose from and the prices range from S$11.90 to S$27.90.

The main course options include My Little Pony Burger, Fish & Chips, Pasta & Hot Dog.

Calling all fans of Crayon Shinchan’s (La Bi Xiao Xin) POP-UP CAFE IS COMING!

Starting from 5 May 2021, Kumoya @ Jalan Klapa will transform into a super cute Crayon Shinchan-themed pop-up cafe and we know it’s going to be so cute!

Crayon Shinchan (La Bi Xiao Xin) Pop-Up Cafe’s will include six snacks, four mains, three desserts and eight beverages.

The prices of the items range from S$10.90 to S$26.90 with a minimum order of at least one food or drink item per person.

My Melody Café is coming to Singapore really soon and it is going to be at Suntec City! My Melody, commonly known as My Melo, is a white rabbit from the Japanese characterisation company Sanrio. She is a well-loved rabbit and is a good friend of Hello Kitty.

The cafe is going to have a cute indoor al fresco garden setting. You can also look forward to a floral arch, garden-themed mural wall and a cottage house. It will be a dream come true for fans of My Melody.

MINIONS CAFE is slated to open in Singapore this November!

Managed by the same team behind the extremely successful Pokémon cafe, PARCO is bringing the first pop-up MINIONS CAFE to Singapore from 23 Nov 2017 to 21 Jan 2018. Fans of this cute yellow cartoon character in popular animated film ‘Despicable Me 3′ must not miss it for anything in the world!

Here in Singapore, guests can expect a myriad of Minion-themed food and beverages at the cafe and be spoiled with over 14 options on the menu that are inspired by the movie’s characters and stories.

Here’s an overview of what you can expect from MINIONS CAFE Singapore.

The MINIONS CAFE operated as the “The Despicable Me 3 Cafe” in Japan at five “THE GUEST cafe&diner” outlets located in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo and Fukuoka during July and September this year.

Following the cafe’s theme, guests can expect to be impressed with a myriad of Minion-themed mains, sides, beverages and desserts that make for great photo taking opportunities.

MINION-THEMED FOOD

For instance, you can choose to start your meal with the Minion’s Great Escape Cream Stew (S$20.90)—which looks extremely appealing, with a giant Minion character right in the center of the pan.

The yellow rice is mixed with saffron powder to give it that dark yellow hue and we recommend having it with the savoury cream sauce given at the side to boost the overall flavour. Every order comes with a mini salad drenched in thousand island dressing.

If you are craving for some fried food, pick the Minion Riceball Party (S$21.90)! Kids will love the fun-looking minion rice balls that come with accompanying sides such as crispy french fries and deep-fried tempura.

Alternatively, they also have other minion-themed mains such Minions Vacation Plate (S$23.90) and Pizza Box (S$13.90).

MINION-THEMED DRINKS

Feeling thirsty? Go for the Up-side-down Minion Jelly Soda Drink (S$12.90), Gru & Lucy “Grucy” Soda (S$8.90) or the Be Bad! Café Latte which can be served either hot (S$8.90) or cold (S$9.50). Although we must say, they really look too adorable for consumption!

MINION-THEMED DESSERTS

Of course, you have to end your meal with yet another Minion-themed dessert—S’more & Minion’s Ice Cream. What you get in this dessert is a scoop of refreshng mango ice cream and perfectly torched marshmellows that melt in your mouth.

As much as we enjoyed it, we had to pair the sweet treat with digestive biscuits to balance the sweetness on our palates.

Other dessert items on their menu include Minion Pudding (S$24.90) and Caramelised Banana (S$16.90).

Yes, the cafe is in an actual ship. Located in Koreatown in Los Angeles, Cafe Jack serves Asian-fusion cuisine in a ship-shaped structure, filled with Titanic memorabilia.

Japan’s beloved Sanrio character—Cinnamoroll—is having a pop-up cafe in Singapore from 17 May to 13 August 2017.

It will be located at Kumoya—a Japanese-French inspired cafe at Jalan Klapa—to mark Cinnamoroll’s 15th anniversary. This collaboration will see a Cinnamoroll theme in the café.

A special limited-time menu has been curated and styled by Shirley Wong (Little Miss Bento) together with the kitchen team at Kumoya. What you can expect is tasty and photogenic dishes.

The selected Main Courses, Desserts and Beverages all carry the theme of Cinnamoroll. The whole experience is designed to be a wonderful hit for fans of this cute fluffy character and is further enhanced with the specially commissioned Cinnamoroll theme décor at Kumoya.

Character cafés are on the rise here in Singapore and adding on to the ever-growing list is the spanking new Gudetama Café Singapore. Gudetama is Sanrio’s latest character and quite possibly the current most popular one. It is no doubt that the whole world is in love with this adorable lazy egg.

Officially opening its doors to the public on 30 November 2016, Gudetama Café Singapore will be serving a myriad of cute Gudetama-themed desserts that will make your hearts melt. We were thrilled to step into the café with cosy lighting and intimate egg-shaped booths around. Spanning a large area of 2,300 square feet, the cafe at Suntec City can sit up to 112 people. Of course, expect snaking long queues in the first few weeks.

Here are some of the dishes you can expect from Gudetama Café Singapore.

Note: For those of you who are heading down to Gudetama Cafe Singapore, it is located near to Suntec City Convention, not Suntec City Tower 3.

Gudetama Café Singapore is a joint venture between two local food brands, The Soup Spoon and Joe & Dough.

Teaming up with popular author and food stylist Shirley Wong (aka Little Miss Bento), they have crafted a menu with some seriously visually-appealing options. Whip out your cameras because you are going to have a fun time photographing them!

EGG-CEPTIONAL SIDES

Two highlights from the sides menu are Gudetama Lobster Onsen (S$16) and Truffle Fries in a Cone (S$16.50). While the latter was sinfully addictive and admittedly a great snack to munch on while waiting for your mains, it was nothing special. You can skip this safe option to go for something a little more adventurous—the Gudetama Lobster Onsen.

The lobster bisque was delightfully rich and creamy, with a very distinct taste of the luxurious shellfish.

EGG-CELENT MAIN COURSES

Gudetama Café Singapore serves a decent range of main courses with a total of 10 options for you to pick from. Popular treats like Rib-”I” Don’t Care (S$28.50), Eggcited Cajun Chicken with Waffles (S$23.90) and “Shiok” Pork Ribs (S$38.50). We liked that the menu is quirky, with a subtle hint of Singlish to appeal to the local crowd.

The Rib-”I” Don’t Care is an adorable name for their Chargrilled New Zealand Grass-Fed Angus Ribeye Steak dish. You can pick the preferred doneness of your steak and it is served with rich and generous wild mushroom sauce, served with grilled vegetables and sweet potato mash.

The Eggcited Cajun Chicken with Waffles is also a wonderful choice and we really loved the marinate on the poultry.

EGG-SQUISITE DESSERTS

Who can miss their huge range of adorable desserts? They have 5 desserts on their actual menu and plenty of other smaller desserts available at the storefront for dine-in or takeaway.

One that stood out the most for us was the Ta-Ma-Go (S$17.90). Shaped like adorable tamago sushi, this dish actually comprises “sushi cheesecakes” coated with rice puffs and topped with fluffy egg sponge cake. It is also served with matcha curd (like wasabi) and maple syrup (like soy sauce).

The Shoyu Ramen (S$21.50) is another twist on a savoury dish. It is actually chocolate mousse cake with Feuilletine, chestnut Mont Blanc, earl grey jelly and orange tuile. Served on the side is some panna cotta with sweet rose tea.

The Iced Tea Coolers (S$8.50 each)—namely Straw-Very “Lazy” and Hula Hula—were pretty generic and run-of-the-mill.

Intrigued by this new character cafe? It is certainly worth a visit because some dishes really surprised us with its taste. However, as with most of these “gimmicky cafes”, do not have high expectations of the food. They are primarily attractive because of their aesthetics.

Nonetheless, the dishes are totally cute and creative, and if you are keen, join in the queue from 30 November 2016. Happy lazing around with Gudetama!

There are two Charlie Brown Cafes in Singapore that feature the main cartoon character in the comic strip, Peanuts. The main outlet is at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, a hang-out spot that is popular among the youths.

Our island’s first DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe opened its doors to public last year. Elaborately decorated with superhero murals and life-sized figurines, this is the place for all DC superhero fans.

The cafe dishes out desserts and drinks that will remind you of your favourite superheroes such as The Flash and Wonder Woman. Their menu happens to be one of the most expensive among the lot, though.

We are eagerly counting down the number of days before the Gudetama Cafe is set to open in Suntec City Mall. Fans of Sanrio’s lazy egg character must be delighted that the hype has brought the cafe to Singapore’s shores too.

Our long wait for a Hello Kitty Cafe to open in Singapore is finally over! The 24-hour cafe is nestled in Singapore Changi Airport and reflects a slice of our Garden City by showcasing lush greenery and opulent blooms.

Hello Kitty Orchid Garden’s menu comprises all-day breakfast fare and desserts, but be warned—the standards of their food have been frowned upon by many.

Residing in a two-storey shophouse, Hungry Heroes Cafe is for those who are fans of the Marvel series. You will be impressed by the huge amount of effort put in to fill the cafe up with posters and life-size figurines of the iconic superheroes.

#7 POKÉMON CAFE

The second edition of Pokémon cafe will be launching in Bugis Junction again! So if you missed it the first time, here is your chance to take photos with Pokémon themed dishes.

One interesting item to look out for on the menu is the Alola Region’s Fish n’ Fries as the ketchup and mayonnaise sauces will form the iconic Pokéball design. Also, we are excited about the Alola Region Volcano as the Pokéball lid will uncover a dessert in the shape of a volcano made of chocolate ice cream cone.

What’s more, there will also be a Pokémon Sun & Moon themed 3D photobooth! Catch all these from 24 Nov 2016 to 19 Feb 2017 at the Pokémon cafe.

Fans of Sanrio’s lazy egg character will probably have heard of Gudetama Cafe in Osaka, as well as Gudetama Cafe by Izumi Curry and the dim sum pop-up restaurant at Dim Sum Icon in Hong Kong. We can finally look forward to Gudetama Cafe in Singapore!

Gudetama Cafe Singapore has yet to release any information, but from what we know, it will be serving an array of Gudetama-themed food and drinks such as breakfast in pan, waffles, soft-serve, pizza and coffee.

While we are apprehensive about such Character cafe’s food because they have proven to be subpar thus far (though there are selective dishes that were not too bad), we trust that Gudetama Cafe Singapore will be better because they’ve got a special consultant onboard for the menu, and it is Little Miss Bento!

Of course, this also means everything will be exceptionally photogenic. Now, we can’t wait for this!

The first Crafholic Pop-Up Cafe is here in Singapore from now until 13 November 2016.

Kki Sweets — a popular Japanese dessert shop in Singapore — has collaborated with Craftholic Singapore to bring the first Craftholic Cafe in Singapore. Located at the School of the Arts (SOTA), the store is the first outside Japan, and will only be here until 13 November 2016.

The pop-up cafe is located at the School of the Arts (SOTA) and it is the first outside Japan!

Fans of Crafholic plushies can look forward to Craftholic themed meals, including dishes such as Sloth Garlic aioli Roast Chicken Sandwich with Truffle Potato Chips, Rab-shaped Pancakes, decorated parfaits, beverages and a limited edition – Singapore Pandan flavour Soufflé cheesecake.

Pokémon Cafe is opening in Singapore this May 2016!

PARCO has recently announced that a pop-up Pokémon cafe will happen at Bugis Junction from 27 May 2016 to 31 July 2016. We can already predict a throng of hardcore fans queuing up, so mark down the dates in your calendar now to avoid disappointment!

The world’s very first pop-up Pokémon cafe in Japan was a roaring success with Pokémon lovers from all over the world flying in specially just to dine at the kawaii themed bistro.

And now, in Singapore, diners could literally teleport themselves into an epic fantasy realm of Pokémon World; enjoy a meal with life-size Pikachus and tuck into Pokémon savouries, sweets and whatnot.

The cafe is a collaboration with EWF, and it will feature 12 Pokémon themed dishes and a selection of merchandise. While not much information has been released about the menu, we are certain that every item would be irresistibly cute.

PARCO has also stated the possibility of a Pikachu mascot showing up during this two-month period at the pop-up Pokémon Cafe for photo taking opportunities – although nothing is quite set in stone yet.

As Pokémon fans ourselves, all we can hope for is that the pop-up cafe will eventually convert into a permanent one.
