Speculoos Cookie Butter, or Cookie Butter in short, has been famed for its nutty and creamy flavour worldwide. This spread is essentially made with baked cookies, before crushing and mixing them with oil until they become a mouth-watering spread – akin to the texture and colour of peanut butter, but even better. We love cookie butter for its addictive taste and would eat it straight from the jar if it was not so fattening.

Speculoos Cookie Butter spread has been leaving its mark across desserts as one of the ultimate ingredient that can never go wrong – macarons, cakes, waffles, ice cream – you name it, they would probably have dominated it all already.

Join the party as we uncover 7 Speculoos Cookie Butter Desserts For The Cookie Butter Fanatics.

The Speculoos Cupcake (S$3.80) at 51 FiveOne Degrees certainly left an impression. The fluffy and moist cupcake was a delight to savour, with a fabulous Cookie Butter spread encased in its core.

If that is not enough to impress, the cupcake is also topped off with a velvety buttercream and a little piece of Lotus cookie for an elevated texture. If you are a big fan of Speculoos Cookie Butter, you have to try this.

While you are at it, you can also order up their famed Speculoos Cheesecake (S$6.50) for an extra pampering – just shut up and take our money already.

If you are exploring the premises of Jalan Pisang, do not be surprised by a snaking queue since that is possibly the queue for one of the growing cupcake establishments in Singapore, fondly known as Fluff Bakery.

Not only is this takeaway-only halal bakery a winner among the Muslim crowd, the humble confectionary has also attracted patrons far and wide with their supposedly to-die-for cupcakes. Our verdict? After sinking our teeth into the fluffy and moist cupcakes while scrambling to lick off its icing sugar – we were sold.

Be prepared to join in the crowd and stand in line for one of the best cupcake decisions you will ever make.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

The bakery first went the e-commerce way with an Instagram account, after which their fame propelled and finally led to the opening of its current flagship store.

Fluff Bakery sells homemade cakes and interesting local fusion cupcake flavours. At S$4 a piece, these cupcakes are handcrafted with quality ingredients, and the freshness is evident.

Coveted flavours include the Ondeh Ondeh, Teh Tarik, Salted Caramel, Maple Pecan Creme Brulee and Horlicks. The menu changes weekly, so be sure to check the menu online before heading down to avoid disappointment.

The people at Fluff Bakery are passionate in what they do, and their love for cupcakes shone through every single cupcake. Don’t their creations just look so lovely?

The bakery operates from 12pm daily until they are sold out, so it is best you head down early if you are keen on bagging one of their yummy bakes home. We don’t need worms for being early because worms are icky, but we want our cupcakes.

I have been on a lookout for the best cupcakes in Singapore, and I think my adventure can end with Plain Vanilla Bakery. They are one of my new favourite cupcake places.

Plain Vanilla is a small retail space – i.e. no dining area – located on the second level of a shop house in Holland Village. Unlike its name, the cupcakes ($3.20 each, or $18 for six) at Plain Vanilla are hardly plain. They are, in fact, some of the best tasting cupcakes I’ve had in town.

I was told that they have nine different cupcakes (milk chocolate chip, carrot, red velvet, dark chocolate ganache, chocolate hazelnut, cinnamon brown sugar, strawberry white chocolate, milk chocolate banana, cookie and cream) available everyday, with a few flavours rotating. I have not tried all the cupcakes, but I intend to. If you beat me to it, do leave a comment and let me know which are the ones that are worth getting.

I’ve always loved cupcakes and I am really happy to see the cupcake trend slowly picking up in Singapore. Plenty of cupcake bakeries have sprung up in the past year and it is really exciting for a dessert lover like me.

One of the new places that serve cupcakes is Cupcakes with Love – a full fledged cupcake cafe at Tanjong Katong. A nice cafe which sells nothing but cupcakes. How cool is that?

Cupcakes with Love is located at 348 Tanjong Katong road (closer to Mountbatten road) which is further away from the main stretch of eateries like Punggol Nasi Lemak, Smiths Fish and Chips and With a Pinch of Salt Cafe.

They currently have eight cupcake flavours, so it is still an ongoing process to test out recipes for the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle (they intend to have nine flavours every day).

It is important to note that the cupcakes from Cupcakes with Love have considerately less frosting than the usual ones. They are quite different and I’m guessing that it will probably appeal more to people who do not fancy thick frostings.

A cupcake goes for $3.8, and it comes with really nice boxes for half a dozen ($22) or a dozen ($44) orders. Some of the flavours include cranberry, strawberry, blueberry, chocolate, matcha and their signature chocolate rum “adult cupcake”.

We were too full after dinner so we only tried three of the flavours: matcha, chocolate rum and red velvet. Yes, red velvet. I bet some of you are already rubbing your hands in anticipation.

I never understood the fascination with red velvet cupcake, though. It’s simply an ordinary cupcake with a few tablespoons of cocoa powder and red food colouring. But if you are a big fan of red velvet cupcake, you might want to check out the one at Cupcakes with Love which comes with cream cheese frosting and is one of the most popular cupcakes there.

The cupcakes are freshly baked every day, so do drop by Cupcakes with Love and give them your support.

Meanwhile, I’m on a quest to try several new cupcake bakeries. I will be blogging a post on the best cupcakes in Singapore soon! Leave me a comment if you have any recommendations for good cupcakes.

Cupcakes will never go out of fashion.

Desserts make us happy, desserts make us smile, desserts are our best of friends. Indulging in desserts is like a hobby to us. We like to go on frequent quests to find new dessert places in Singapore, and share them with our favourite people.

Here is our guide to the Best Dessert Places in Singapore.

Antoinette is a Parisian pâtisserie and salon du thé by Chef Pang Kok Keong, one of Singapore’s best pastry chefs. The French patisserie is a great place for a quiet afternoon high tea. If we lived near the Lavender area, we could just imagine ourselves dropping by the Parisian tea salon every other day.

Since launching its flagship outlet at Killiney Road last September, Artisan Boulangerie Co has quickly expanded with four more outlets at Great World City, The Metropolis, Asia Square Tower 2, and Vivo City. If you ever do pass by one of their outlets, take a break and go for their beautiful eclairs.

Baker & Cook

With branches all over the Island, Bakerzin is a name that will come to mind when we need a quick dessert fix. Some of the popular desserts (or rather my favourite deserts) at Bakerzin include Chocolate Amer, Sweet Pleasure, and Warm Chocolate Lava Cake.

Brunetti is a famous coffee joint in Melbourne and it is a sweet addition to the Singapore food scene – figuratively and literally. The pasticceria and coffee bar takes up the space formerly occupied by whimsical restaurant Oomphatico’s, and it offers a pleasantly mind-boggling variety of cakes, pastries and tarts.

Some say they have the best croissants, though we do not agree. Nonetheless, with a comprehensive display of bread, pastries and desserts, there will be something for every taste bud.

Located directly opposite Liang Court in The Foothills, The Fabulous Baker Boy is a cosy and homely space with, as the name has suggested, great cakes. They serve home-style cakes like Salted Caramel Chocolate Torte ($8.50), a rich chocolate torte with layers of salted caramel and dark chocolate frosting; Big Lub’s Carrot Cake ($8.50), a modern carrot cake with the addition of cranberry and coconut; and Triple Chocolate Cake ($7) – a delicious and addictive dark chocolate cake.

Tsujiri is one of the most famous green tea shops, and an institution in Kyoto which is known for Japanese tea and matcha desserts. The good news is, we no longer have to fly all the way to Kyoto just to satisfy our cravings. Tsujiri has its first outpost in Singapore at 100AM Shopping Centre. If you have not been, come here for their famous green tea parfait.

The desserts are to die for. Raspberry Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Hazelnut Crunchy Eclair, Red Velvet Cupcake – just to name a few. The highlight for us is definitely the rich and luxurious Tuxedo Cake made with Valrhona chocolate.

Wimbly Lu is among our favourite places for desserts, and we go there all the time and have, by far, tried all the desserts on the menu. We love the intimate and somewhat rustic atmosphere, and the fact that all the desserts are so reasonably-priced is what had our loyalty earned. While some of the desserts did not impress, the waffle and root beer cake are reasons enough for us to return time and again.
