Try the highly recommended signature Tuscan Butter Salmon (S$18) which comes with a pan-seared Salmon creamy sauce with garlic, cherry tomato, spinach, basil, parmesan cheese and sunny side up; or if you are feeling hungry, go for the Full Breakfast (S$22) with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, chicken cheese sausage, sauteed mushroom, roasted cherry tomato, kernel corn, green salad, blueberry jam and toast bread.

PASTA

One of our favourite dishes from Arteastiq Bistro at Jewel Changi Airport is the Spicy Crayfish Spaghetti (S$16) and it is also available at the new garden-themed cafe.

It features two generous slabs of crayfish atop a bed of tri-coloured pasta that is tossed and sautéed with chilli oil, garlic, cocktail onion and light cream.

Other options include Squid Ink Spaghetti (S$16), Macaroni Beef Bolognese (S$16) and Mentaiko Tuna Spaghetti (S$16).

BREW

Amongst Arteastiq’s extensive tea choices—there are more than 20 delicately perfumed teas to pick from—our absolute favourite has to be their famed Lychee Oolong Tea which is served in a crystal perfume bottle and poured over plump and succulent lychees.

For caffeine lovers, you have to try their premium grade Hojicha Espresso. It’s the ideal pick-me-up treat. Akin to the flavours of deep caramel, the Hojicha Espresso offers a natural sweetness, a deep roasted nuttiness and a gentle hint of smokiness. Ornately served in a dark crystal perfume bottle and poured over milk and ice, this fine beverage will keep you wanting for more.

True to its name, Arteastiq is the quintessence of elegance with its beautiful posh restaurants featuring exquisite dining ambiences, scrumptious nosh and eclectic ranges of artisanal teas. The establishment already has two existing outlets that are conveniently located at Mandarin Gallery and Plaza Singapura, and they’ve decided to expand to the East to include an outlet at fresh-faced Jewel Changi Airport.

Overlooking the world’s biggest indoor waterfall and shrouded in lush greenery, Arteastiq Bistro at Jewel Changi Airport is a dreamy sanctuary for travellers and city dwellers alike to retreat to for some much-needed respite away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Aside from the majestic view, take your senses on a gastronomical adventure with their all-day multifaceted menu that has been created by Arteastiq Group’s executive chef, Chef Yip. The adroitly curated menu focuses on the reinterpretation of continental cuisines and features the likes of snazzy high tea sets, delectable mains and ambrosial desserts.

This botanical haven sits in a quiet corner on the top floor of Jewel Changi Airport. Its strategic location at the rooftop area lets in plenty of sunlight that bathes the entire restaurant in a warm, soothing glow.

With its sleek furniture and verdure accents in the colour scheme of cyan, white, gold and black, the bistro exudes a chic and modern charm that provides its diners with a tranquil and luxurious Al fresco dining experience.

NATIONAL TREASURE HIGH TEA SET

Iindulge yourselves with Arteastiq Bistro’s new National Treasure High Tea Set (S$32 for 1 Pax, S$48 for 2 Pax), which is the perfect embodiment of Singapore’s rich and diverse multi-cultured food history.

This glorious display includes two speciality teas of your choice (not including their alcoholic range) and bites such as kueh pie tee with crab stick, rainbow kueh lapis, soft gula melaka with red bean and glutinous rice wrapped in spicy shrimp.

Our absolute favourite has to be the glutinous rice wrapped in spicy shrimp — dense, chewy and accompanied by a spicy kick, this small but fiery mouthful undoubtedly packs a mean punch.

SCRUMPTIOUS STARTERS

Start off your feast with one of their enticing starters which include Cheese Tofu (S$9), Pan Seared Foie Gras (S$15) and Scallop Bruschetta (S$12). Out of the lot, our favourite is the Spicy Escargot (S$11) which consists of sauteed snails doused in a sauce made from chilli oil, garlic, cocktail onions and light cream.

HEARTY ASIAN MAINS

Arteastiq Bistro’s extensive menu serves up a bountiful range of hearty, soul-comforting mains but out of them all, the ones that grabbed our attention were the Sambal Sea Bass with Dry Laksa (S$25) and Pan Roasted Satay Chicken Boneless Thigh (S$22).

Drenched in a tangy and fiery dried shrimp sambal chilli sauce, the fork-tender oven-baked sea bass had a decent amount of heated kick to it that didn’t overwhelm the palate.

The dry laksa, on the other hand, was aromatic and chewy with a slight zest to it that made it the perfect accompaniment to the sea bass.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

They call the appetisers “The Lighter Sides of Love”, and they sure are teasing our palates for greater things ahead. We began our afternoon with a Cyperian Affair (S$18) – a salad of rocket leaves, grapes, walnuts, pan fried haloumi and greek honey. A simple mix that features varying textures and complementing flavours, this salad is great even for vegetarians.

And we absolutely loved the Sweet Potato Fries with Horseradish Aiolo (S$12). Sweet Potato Fries are too underrated, but these food for the soul excite us more than regular fries do. Arteastiq’s version is a fancy-free jar of thick-cut strips lightly coated with salt and fried to a golden orange shade.

On to the mains, the menu is split into “Ladies Affairs” and “Gentlemen’s Dinner” – no hard and fast rule about what you can or cannot order, though. So it goes without saying that we feasted to our hearts’ content. With everything being so tantalizing, it is impossible to settle for only a dish. Or two.

The Prince of Monte Carlo (S$28) tops the chart for being an unconventional Croque Monsieur. Think slices of brioche with melted cheddar and 24-hour beef short ribs topped with a gorgeous sunny side-up. And guess what? It comes with the divine sweet potato fries too! This dish is too flawless.

Eggs Benedict for you? No, let’s do crabcake benedict. The Aphrodite-Crabcake Benedict (S$25) is splendid variation of the ubiquitous brunch food, and it features Maryland crabcake and poached egg atop slightly toasted brioche, then lavishly covered in smoked paprika hollandaise. The eggs are brilliantly poached, with beautiful runny yolks that blend with the hollandaise and seep into the crabcake for an additional touch of creaminess.

Love your duck confit? Then the Beijing’s Dynasty-Duck Pancake (S$28) is for you. Shredded and wrapped in crepe sheets and drizzled with orange caramel, this dish reminds us of Peking duck – except that it is a lot neater in a sexy ambience, of course.

Eggs anything, did we hear? How about baked eggs with foie gras? The Summer in Provence (S$28) is a hearty cocotte that featured a generous slab of seared foie gras, baked eggs, demiglace and countrybreads. Indulgent and flavoursome, we love this dish on a quiet afternoon with a good read in hand.

On to the Viking’s Prime-Frikadel et Rosti (S$28) – sounds complicated, but let’s just say this is an awesome pairing of sweet potato rosti (oh yes, baby!) and chicken patties. Prepared with brown sauce, mustard and horseradish, look forward to a taste of textured spices. Goes really well with their famed iced lychee tea (S$11)!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

We heard the Louisana Love (S$26) is a popular choice too. Essentially chicken and waffles, this dish features panfried buttermilk chicken, wholewheat waffles, maple butter and red vegetable slaw. What dreams are made of, we’d say. Need some warm stew? The Boston Love Boat-Ciponio (S$29) is a seafood and saffron version that is (also) served with sweet potato fries. Never too much, indeed.

The menu revamp also brings about a spanking desserts selection that they call “The Sweeter Sides of Love”. Small but concise, everything is homemade with so much thoughts and love. On a lighter note, we have so much respect for places that reinvent recipes, so Arteastiq has our hearts for this.

We liked the Airy Fairy (S$13) best. A portion of Valrhona chocolate mousse with vanilla cream parfait a day keeps depression at bay! This dessert is also very Instagram-worthy.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Are you a fan of donuts? Because the Pillows-”Beignets” (S$12) are not to be missed. Three balls of New Orleans style beignets that are round and soft – airy on the inside, and powdered with coffee sugar on the outside. Served with creme chantilly, we would even do this as a main on days that we need some sugar rush.

The Silk Thread (S$13) is an interesting rendition of crème brûlée. It is not your usual sweet custard; it is infused with osmanthus. Lightly creamy and significantly less sweet, this variation is served with fresh plump berries, and ideal for those who normally do not prefer the classic rich custard.

As Arteastiq prides itself as an oasis of a venue, the whole concept of social interaction through the expression of painting and gathering whilst overlooking the busy life of Orchard Road from above is a truly exquisite experience.

Speak about Arteastiq, and its tea lounge at Mandarin Gallery instantly comes to mind. Recently, the good people behind this one-of-its-kind art jamming cum studio café have gone traditional with its new restaurant Arteastiq Tea Bone China at Millenia Walk.

The décor was effortlessly classy, bringing a sense of nostalgia without the tackiness. We were especially fascinated by the birdcages that dangled from the ceiling, an attempt to recreate the experiences of olden-day Chinese merchants who’d bird-watch while sipping pots of tea.

The hotpot menu is limited, with a choice of 3 soup bases – Bak Kut Teh ($5.50), Pork Bone ($6.50) or Ginseng Chicken ($8.80), and a selection of ingredients such as Sliced Salmon ($14.80), Kampong Chicken ($11.80) and Vegetables ($6.80).

We went for the pork bone soup, which was comforting and flavourful, if just a tad heavy-handed on the salt. The Sliced Beef ($12.80) which a at first glance looked fresh and promising, turned out to be sinewy and lacking in flavour. Vegetables are, well, vegetables. But they made for a feel-good meal together with a bowl of brown rice ($2), which was cooked with a mish-mash of vegetables and beans.

Apart from the hotpots, Arteastiq dishes up a variety of communal dishes, from the ubiquitous pan-fried Silver Cod Fish ($16.80) to the intriguing Crispy Tofu with Chicken and Avocado Cream ($12.80).

We enjoyed the Siew Mai ($4.80) from the dim sum menu, but found the signature Xiao Long Baos ($6.80) unremarkable. If there is one dish we’d return to Tea Bone China for, it is the Wanton with hot chilli sauce ($5.80). Sitting in a pool of sourish, slightly spicy Chinese vinegar were 6 plump, juicy prawn and pork dumplings encased in a silky wanton skin. These were remarkably satisfying.

Arteastiq’s attempt to recreate the hotpot experience fine-dining style is commendable, but would probably not please traditionalists looking for a hearty hotpot meal since portions are small. While the experience is worth a visit, the food is not. With so many other dining options at Millenia Walk, we doubt we will be hurrying back any time soon.
