Snow Colors Dessert Bar Introduces Snow Ice Waffles in Singapore

Snow Colors Waffles

We have always been a fan of snow ice. This popular Taiwanese dessert – made of ribbons of flavoured ice topped with fresh fruits – is an indulgence, and a much-needed treat to combat Singapore’s weather.

Snow Colors Dessert & Bar – a simple, no-frills dessert shop located at the ground floor of Katong Plaza, just directly opposite the famous 328 Katong laksa – has brought this popular dessert to the next level by combining it with waffles. Brilliant move, we’d say.

A glorious mountain of snow ice piled atop piping hot and crispy waffle – It is like having the best of both worlds! We are surprised that no one had thought of this combination earlier. The other options include Waffles with butter and maple syrup (S$4), Waffles with fruits (S$7.50), and Waffles with snow ice & fruits (S$8.50). Go for the full works; it is satisfying as it is pretty. And the best part? No exorbitant price tags.

Mango Ice

Waffles aside, Snow Colors offers quite an array of snow ice desserts (S$6) – from everyone’s favourite mango shaved ice, to the popular D24 durian snow ice with durian puree, Japanese matcha snow ice paired with red beans, and Chendol snow ice topped with candied red beans, green jelly and doused in gula melaka sauce.

The folks at Snow Colors are constantly testing new flavours in the kitchen, so we are looking forward to more interesting and creative creations from them. Snow Colors shares the same premise as Baba Peranakan, an eatery which dishes out earnest and affordable homecooked Peranakan cuisine. If you are in the Katong and Joo Chiat area, you must drop by for Peranakan food and cool down with an icy treat.

Why You Should Experience Living Abroad for a While

Why you should live abroad

When I first found out I was accepted into a university in Brisbane, Australia in 2010, I was resistant to the idea. For several reasons, too: It was unfamiliar territory, I was going to be away from home for an extended time (a first) and I knew no one there. But eventually, I had a great experience during my stay, and I don’t regret a thing. Yes, it may sound scary being away from familiar surroundings, it’s something I feel everyone should try, at least once.

Here’s why you should experience living abroad:

12 Reasons Why You Must Stay at The Mulia Resort in Bali

The Mulia Bali

If you have been following our Instagram account, you would have seen (and possibly be blown away) by our live feed during our week-long stay at The Mulia, Mulia Resorts and Villas last month. It was a good week of Heaven on Earth.

Bali is a familiar ground that we visit several times a year, and we have stayed at so many resorts and villas before, but nothing takes the cake like The Mulia does. “Sometimes, you have to believe before you can see,” a constant thought on our minds as we explored the large compound. Every area had something to impress, every landscape touched us like a fairytale.

The Mulia

It is nothing quite like what you would expect from Bali – it redefines stunning on a whole new level, much more than what you would think of from the Island of Gods. The sheer space, the grandeur of the Greek architecture, every single fine detail, the unrivalled luxury and unparalleled beauty; all these are but mere words until you set foot on this paradise – to believe, and to see for yourself what The Mulia Bali has to offer. Sitting at the coastline of Nusa Dua, the property boasts a beach front view, and life is awesome just lounging at the cabanas, sipping cocktails with our favourite books, and daydreaming while staring at the boundless skies and vast horizons.

Comprising three connecting grounds, the property is made up of The Mulia – an oasis of serenity, with luxurious suites and a classy tea room; Mulia Resorts – the main wing of rooms and its fleet of restaurants and deli; and Villas – various villas (up to 6 bedrooms) that are well-nestled in an abundance of greenery and coveted peace. And we lost count of the number of pools there are within the property because there will always be one for us to dive in no matter which part we were at!

We could stay there forever and be lost in paradise, and here are 12 reasons why you must stay at The Mulia, Mulia Resorts and Villas in Bali.
