High five to those who agree that Sydney has many hidden sweet treats places! In fact, along the everyday busy streets of Newtown, tucked away in a small lane sits a simple small little café that creates a few bizarre yet surprisingly delicious cakes and tarts that one could ever imagine. Imagine a classic crème brulee tart with a fruity twist!
Black Star Pastry is where you will want to visit!
There are many restaurants serving brunch, but most of them are only mediocre. Club Street Social – located at Gemmil Lane, a quiet corner off Club Street where you can also find Luke’s Oyster Bar – is definitely not one of them. I am not afraid to say that it is one of the best, if not the best brunch place in town. Trust me, that is no small praise.
Since going there, I’ve been recommending it to all my friends. If this is your first time hearing about it, I’d suggest going there soon before they get too popular.

Whenever my friends meet for gatherings, one of our favourite places is Raffles City Shopping Centre as City Hall is convenient for everyone.
Other than the location, another reason why I love Raffles City is because of the dining options – there are more than 50 restaurants in the mall. Perched at the top of Marina Bay Sands, KU DÉ TA has one of the best dining spots in Singapore. Contrary to popular belief, Ku De Ta is not a fine dining restaurant; it is positioned as a casual dining place where you can get a nice cocktail and order a few dishes to share with friends.
That said, a meal at Ku De Ta is not what you would consider to be ‘cheap’. One is expected to spend at least $70/pax (without drinks). The price, of course, might put off many people. But when you get to enjoy the panoramic view of Singapore’s skyline for the whole night, this is certainly a place that is worth splurging on.
I have been on a lookout for the best cupcakes in Singapore, and I think my adventure can end with Plain Vanilla Bakery. They are one of my new favourite cupcake places.
