5 Ways Diners Can Be Better Customers

Better Customers

What ruins our mood most when we dine out is not the food, nor the ambience, but very often the service and attitude of wait staff. All it takes is a smile to set things straight; similarly, an unfriendly staff can spoil things with her rudeness, and an unhelpful staff can affect the overall dining experience.

Some time ago, we shared about what everyone can do to expect better service, and while more often than not, we complain about poor service when dining out, diners should also reflect and think about how we play a part in making the whole dining experience memorable.

Service is not just about the workers, but it also involves employers and customers. In this day and age, more is expected, thus more has to be given. As NTUC’s Labour Chief Lim Swee Say puts it: “The globalized world thrives on mutual dependency, mutual support and mutual acceptance. Good services beget good customers, and good customers beget good services”.

Today, we will like to elaborate with five more ways on how diners can be better customers.

Henri Charpentier Tokyo

Whenever we are in Tokyo, we always make it a point to drop by Henri Charpentier to have desserts and tea, as well as to get some gifts in the form of madeleines, financiers and biscuits for friends.

Henri Charpentier is one of our favourite patisseries in Tokyo and it has exceptional desserts and pastries in a classy tea salon. We are thrilled that Henri Charpentier is opening its first overseas dessert salon in Singapore at Dempsey Hill on 9 October 2014. Besides its signature Crepe Suzette and cakes, the patisserie will also be serving exclusive Singapore-inspired desserts.

McDonald’s Singapore Finally Has All-Day Breakfast on Weekends and PHs (At Selected Outlets)

McDonald's All Day Breakfast

Yes, you read that right. McDonald’s Singapore is finally serving all-day breakfast on weekends and public holidays! REJOICE!

We have been counting down to this day for God knows how many years, and it is better news than good news! Gone are the days that we have to crawl out of bed on weekends when we should be sleeping in, and we set our alarms just so we could make it in time for our Hotcakes and Big Breakfast fix. But we no longer have to do this!

Selected outlets have starting pleasing fans with extended breakfast hours, and we really cannot contain our excitement. The regular breakfast menu will still be served till 12pm, and from 12pm to 5:30pm, enjoy the classic favourites of Hotcakes, Hotcakes with Sausage and Breakfast Deluxe. The early birds can have the stupid worms because mornings and worms suck, and for the rest of us who have a penchant to ditch our alarms on weekends and public holidays, we can still wake up to awesome McDonald’s breakfast!

This promotion has just been rolled out yesterday, and can only be found in 30-odd selected outlets in Singapore – mainly at areas like Woodlands, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Serangoon, Punggol and Sengkang. We are certainly hoping it to be extended island-wide soon!
