Before the salted egg and mala trends kicked in, Singaporeans used to be obsessed with something else that was just as addictive.

Fluffy, savoury and extremely fragrant, chicken floss was and still is until today, something that is loved by Singaporeans. We love our chicken floss with buns, as a topping for our porridge or even as a snack on its own. It was especially popular during festive occasions like Chinese New Year, where jars of these used to be given away as gifts.

Just in time for Singapore’s 55th National Day, KFC has released a new chicken flavour featuring—you guessed it—chicken floss! It will be available in all KFC restaurants from 21 July 2020 onwards excluding KFC Singapore Zoo.

The new KFC Flossy Crunch Chicken is essentially KFC’s Hot & Crispy Fried Chicken seasoned in a medley of fragrant curry and local spices that is generously coated in a layer of addictive spicy-sweet chicken floss.

We love how the aromatic chicken floss is infused with spicy dried shrimp, giving it a sweet yet mouth-burning kick that enhances the flavours of the chicken. It also provides our favourite chicken with a unique texture that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Every umami-filled bite of the KFC Flossy Crunch Chicken promises to evoke a sense of nostalgia within you, reminding you of the good old days where we used to enjoy adding chicken floss to everything. When you’re done chowing down on all that chicken, chances are you’ll be snacking on the chicken floss bits and licking the remnants off your fingers; it is that addictive.

The KFC Flossy Crunch Chicken is available in different meal bundles at all KFC restaurants except KFC Singapore Zoo.

A single Flossy Crunch Chicken costs just S$3.65, while a 2 pieces Flossy Crunch Chicken Meal (S$8.95) comes with 2 pieces of Flossy Crunch Chicken, 1 regular Whipped Potato, 1 regular Coleslaw and 1 regular SJORA® Mango Peach.

If you’re feeling a little more peckish, you can also opt to get the Flossy Crunch Chicken Box (S$10.95) which comes with 2 pieces of Flossy Crunch Chicken, 2 pieces of Hot & Crispy Tenders,1 regular Whipped Potato, 1 regular fries and 1 regular SJORA® Mango Peach.

For those of you who want to share this with a friend, get the 5 pieces Flossy Crunch Chicken Meal (S$19.55) which comes with 5 pieces Flossy Crunch Chicken, 2 regular Whipped Potato, 2 regular Coleslaw and 2 regular SJORA® Mango Peach. There is also the Flossy Crunch Family Feast (S$36.95) which comes with 8 pieces Flossy Crunch Chicken, 9 pieces of Nuggets, 2 medium Whipped Potato and 2 medium Coleslaw.

The KFC Flossy Crunch Chicken is available on KFC Delivery, dine-in and takeaway from 21 July 2020. Want to see what the floss is all about? Try it for yourself!

KFC Singapore is known for its wild imagination and innovative creations. Besides serving Finger Lickin’ Good chicken, it has dedicated itself time and again to conjure up groundbreaking dishes that are downright delicious.

You’ve seen the Chizza and the Zinger Double Down. This time, KFC Singapore is back with yet another crazy culinary hybrid. Sick and tired of shattering messy tacos, they’ve embarked on a quest to bring to you a — wait for it — shell-less rendition of the Mexican dish.

Meet the Kentaco. KFC’s latest creation featuring a fried chicken taco shell that does not disappoint.

A cross between a taco and fried chicken, the Kentaco has swapped out the classic outer layer of corn tortilla for — you guessed it — fried chicken. We know, this could either be the worst mistake in the history of fried chicken experiments, or a sheer culinary breakthrough.

The Kentaco (S$5.90) features a crispy chicken fillet that’s hand-breaded and fried to form a classic taco ‘U’ shape. Stuffed with fresh iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, decadent cheese sauce and shredded cheese, it’s the ultimate combo for cheese junkies.

Now, before the taco purists can scream “abomination”, how about a little taste test?

The breaded chicken was crispy on the outside and really tender on the inside, with the cheese serving as the perfect flavour booster. The lettuce and tomatoes added a refreshing crunch to the fried indulgence.

The best way to devour this is to just take one large bite of the whole monstrosity, getting an explosion of flavours from the chicken, cheese and veggies all at once.

Salivating already? Fret not, the Kentaco is available in-stores now!

For hungrier customers, the Kentaco Meal (S$7.95) is available, which comes with an addition of Medium Fries and 1 Regular Pepsi Black. Or, you can up the stakes with their Kentaco Box (S$9.95), served with 1 Piece Chicken, 1 Regular Whipped Potato, 1 Regular Fries and 1 Regular Pepsi Black.

KFC Kentaco will available at all KFC restaurants except KFC Kidzania and Singapore Zoo.

Never one to rest on their laurels, KFC Singapore is back with yet another new, inventive dish to usher in the festivities this Lunar New Year! Let this year of the rat help you sniff out even more delectable delights by spicing things up (literally) with KFC’s latest Lunar New Year creation, Nyonya Fried Chicken.

If there’s one thing any self-respecting F&B establishment in Singapore knows, is that Singaporeans love their spices. KFC surely recognises this, keeping our taste buds yearning after previous seasonal favourites such as the Red Hot Szechuan Chicken and Curry Crunch Chicken.

The common ingredient in these best-sellers? They all provide an addictive and irresistible spice infusion that renders their already finger lickin’ chicken even more finger lickin’ good. With KFC’s track record, this new addition is sure to give your tongues a hot, new thing to salivate over!

KFC’s latest release this season continues along the tangent of being a high-quality and attention-grabbing number. Burnished in a lively auburn shade, it cuts a striking profile against the golden hues of its usual menu counterparts. Accompanying the vibrant sight is a familiar whiff of fried chicken, but with a feisty peppery undertone that really gets your mouth watering.

Taking a bite out of the chicken unveils a piquant medley of spices – a curated blend of chillies, dried shrimps, curry spices and laksa leaves with a dash of coconut to introduce a sweet, smooth flourish – that persists after your initial tasting. Even past the chicken’s craggy crust, the flavours endure in the juicy centre, thus allowing the fragrance from the spices and herbs to fully permeate each mouthful.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

To make this Lunar New Year season even more auspicious, treating yourself to any Nyonya Chicken Meal can also reward you with a chance to grab a gift from KFC’s enormous S$388,000 prize pool!

From 2 January to 2 February 2020, a winner will get to take home S$3,888 every week, while three very lucky diners will walk away with the grand prize of S$8,888 from the Grand Lucky Draw. On top of that, you can participate in KFC’s sure-win Ang Bao Rush game for additional chances to nab instant rewards or even the weekly S$388 cash prize.

For a chance at getting your hands on the prizes, simply order any Nyonya Chicken Meal at participating outlets or via delivery. Eligible offers will receive unique code(s) – each code entails one Grand Lucky Draw chance and one try at the Ang Bao Rush Game. Remember to hold on to your original scratch cards and emails even after playing for verification purposes! Don’t want to miss out on your good fortune now, do you?

This Lunar New Year, if you find yourself craving some deep-fried deliciousness, why not pop by KFC for a scrumptious, fuss-free meal? Grab this limited run special while you still can; with flavours as potent, spice as gratifying, and crunch as compelling as the Nyonya Fried Chicken’s, we wouldn’t miss out on this opportunity either!

Hot on the trails of multiple unique food inventions from the delightful Boba Tea Tarts to the sinfully tasty KFC Chicken Skin, KFC has been tapping into well-loved flavours of our local palate and integrating them into their menu items.

By basing their latest release on a much-loved combination of flavours, this juicy new chicken main is sure to captivate all merrymakers as their newest go-to party snack.

KFC SOUR CREAM & ONION CHICKEN

For fans of KFC’s signature finger-lickin’ good fried chicken, you will love this new multi-layered and flavour-dense variant. Available at S$3.60 each or S$8.95 for a two-piece meal, what makes the Sour Cream & Onion Chicken so enticing isn’t just the winning combination of flavours involved, but the intricate sensory experience from the textural variance present.

For the usual fried chicken options, we expect the contrast between the signature crunch of the chicken skin against the moist tenderness of the flesh beneath. However, by covering the chain’s Hot & Spicy Chicken in a generous layer of crushed nacho chips before frying, the irregular coat of chips enhances the texture of the dish by breaking the surface consistency. The resultant eating experience is not just more thrilling, but more playful and fun as well.

The flavours involved work off a similar principle of careful layering. The original 11 herbs and spices blend may already be fragrant enough, but with the preference for heavier flavours courtesy of our local food culture, that alone may be insufficient to produce that desired wow factor. Instead of just using the spicy version, by applying a generous dusting of sour cream and onion sprinkle all over the chicken crust, the end product induces an explosion of flavours unlike any of KFC’s creations thus far.

The resultant eating experience is indeed akin to biting into a pack sour cream and onion chips, but with the added gratification of having a more substantial and flavourful protein base to savour the tangy sour cream off of. Unlike with chips, the presence of the chicken staved off what would have otherwise been an overwhelming infusion of sour cream and onion, thus prolonging the enjoyment of the eating process.

Move aside sour cream and onion chips; between the addictive crunch and the intricate flavours, the KFC Sour Cream & Onion Chicken is fast becoming our go-to party treat as well!

To refresh your throats after the piquant richness of the chicken, thankfully, the Sour Cream & Onion meals come with the perfect palate cleanser, SJORA® Mango Peach. It is the perfect accompaniment to your KFC festive meals, and deftly reinvigorates your appetite by cutting through the heartiness of the chicken and cheese fries.

KFC BOLOGNESE CHEESE FRIES

Looking for a little something else to pair with the Sour Cream & Onion Chicken? KFC has you covered with their next creation, Bolognese Cheese Fries (S$4.95)! If the chicken main is all about the acute individual spikes of intensity, then this side complements the former by excelling in the inverse: a slow even build-up of the dish’s medley of flavours.

Cheese and Bolognese – a classic taste pairing in Italian cuisine that has endeared many of us to the familiarity of the flavours involved. Layering their signature creamy cheese topping on a bed of savoury and tangy chicken Bolognese sauce makes this already delectable side dish even more indulgent.

What we really appreciate is the generous helping of minced chicken as an accompaniment; it turns what tends to be a carb-based afterthought into a complex treat worthy of its own limelight.

KFC CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT EGG TART

The festive season will not be complete without a dessert of some sort. Back by hugely popular demand, the chain’s incredibly well-received KFC Chocolate Hazelnut Egg Tart is making a return (S$1.50/piece or S$7.50/5 with 1 free)!

A favourite of many, KFC’s Portuguese egg tarts are a delight to behold: the golden sheen of the thin flaky crust holds within it a smooth creamy centre of delicious custard goodness. As appealing as the original tarts are, the addition of the chocolate hazelnut spread elevates it to an almost heavenly status. Because of how the tart isn’t overly saccharine, the sweet nutty aftertaste of the chocolate hazelnut pairs wonderfully with the mild sweetness of the base treat.

Following the predominant concept of flavour and texture layering this season, the thicker consistency of the chocolate acts as a binding element between the silken custard core and the crisp exterior, giving a pleasant chewiness to the overall mouthfeel that has so many of us craving for more.

KFC Chocolate Hazelnut Egg Tart is available at all KFC restaurants except Blk 501 Jurong West Street 51, Changi Jewel, KidZania, Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, Punggol Oasis Terraces, and Singapore Zoo.
