Singapore is finally in Phase 2, and this means that we are given a little more freedom to go out and about. While the pandemic situation across the globe doesn’t seem to be getting better anytime soon, Phase 2 in Singapore is definitely a step closer towards normalcy.

If you’ve been indoors for too long and are stumped on what you can or cannot do in Phase 2 in Singapore, here are 8 activities that we are allowed to partake in. Do remember to practise safe distancing and good hygiene habits while you have fun with your loved ones; we don’t want to find ourselves back in another Circuit Breaker.

APPRECIATE ART AT THE ARTSCIENCE MUSEUM

Art enthusiasts who have been surviving on online virtual tours of museums and attractions during this period will be glad to know that museums will be open in Phase 2. One of these museums is the futuristic Artscience Museum near Marina Bay Sands Singapore. A plus point that comes along with the reopening of museums in Singapore is that crowds will be relatively smaller due to safe distancing measures.

Popular Singapore attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Zoo, River Safari and Jurong Bird Park are once again open to the public, and you can also expect smaller crowds.

READ A BOOK AT THE LIBRARY

If you’re a book nerd or someone who enjoys the peace and quiet of libraries, you must have been devasted to know that libraries were not accessible to the public for quite some time. Libraries in Singapore are finally reopening in Phase 2 so we can head there for some alone time and a good book.

SOAK UP THE SUN AT THE BEACH

It’s time to get a good dosage of vitamin D to make up for all the time you spent stuck at home. Head over to one of Singapore’s many beaches to frolic in the sand & sea, get a good tan and just laze around. Who knew that we would one day miss the sun so much!

Some beaches you can visit in Singapore’s Phase 2 include Palawan Beach, Siloso Beach and East Coast Park. You can also have a mini getaway and go island hopping at some of the few islands that surround Singapore.

WORK YOUR LEGS AND DO A WALKING TRAIL

Stretch those stiff legs and take a nice long walk at one of Singapore’s many walking trails such as Imbiah Trails, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and Southern Ridges. It’s a wholesome activity to do in Phase 2 with your partner and friends after being apart for so long!

HAVE A PICNIC AT THE PARK

Everyone is all excited about dining out in Singapore and we can expect some pretty long queues for our favourite eateries. To skip the crowds, why not have a picnic at a park instead? Places like The Botanic Gardens, MacRitchie Reservoir and Chinese Garden are open again in Phase 2 in Singapore so you can prepare a sumptuous feast with your loved ones for a fun picnic session.

GO MURAL HOPPING

If you don’t fancy the usual attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and Singapore Zoo, an alternative activity you can try out is mural hopping. Singapore is home to a number of beautiful murals, with the more popular ones being by Yip Yew Chong. Embark on a wall crawl and discover hidden pieces of art that will let you rediscover Singapore from a different perspective in Phase 2.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH FLORA AND FAUNA AT THE FLOWER DOME IN GARDENS BY THE BAY

Nature loves who are afraid of Singapore’s unforgiving heat can find solace in The Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay Singapore. The famous air-conditioned glass greenhouse houses a myriad of gorgeous plants and flowers for you to admire and take photos with.

Besides the usual surfing and skating, think water-propelled jet packs that “flies” you up and even yoga on a stand-up paddle board in the sea.

Beginners should always go for proper, guided lessons to ensure you are doing it safely and correctly.

#7 STAND-UP PADDLING

Stand-up paddling is not as easy as it looks, but it provides a nice variation to the more intense sport of surfing. Even kids can take up lessons at East Coast Park.

For others, it can also be a slow lead-up to surfing if you are too intimidated by it.

#8 STAND-UP PADDLE YOGA

Prefer a more calming and relaxing sport? Stand Up Paddle Yoga has been getting quite a bit of attention because the art of practising yoga while staying completely balanced by floating on water is amazing.

If you have been practising yoga for awhile, this is your next “challenge”.

#9 SURFING

Because we do not have huge crashing waves here in Singapore, you can now surf in an indoor wave pool in Wave House Sentosa. It is also an easier way to learn the sport if you sign up for lessons here.

Where: Wave House Sentosa

#10 WATER-PROPELLED JETPACK

This is probably the most exciting one. The Jetlev flyer is now available for rental here in Singapore at Sentosa. It is basically a water-propelling jetpack that can send you flying to the sky with intense water pressure pushing you off the water. How cool is that?

Where: Sea-Breeze Water Sports, Wave House Sentosa

Valentine’s Day is coming and if you are always looking for ways to break your usual dating routine(s) with your partner, we might just have the answer for you. Truth to be told, it can be easier than you think. Whenever you see a fun activity that your friends shared on their social media, or from a drama serial, or anything at all – note them down on your mobile phone.

Another easy method is just to recall the things you used to love to do (before life caught up on you). Was it singing karaoke with your buddies? Having a friendly match of snooker? Or simply staying at home playing board games? Revisit them.

There are so many possibilities and even more ways to keep the love alive. Here, we share with you some Valentine’s Day Date Ideas – 9 Fun Activities & Thrilling Things to Do in Singapore.

#1 GAME NIGHT FOR 2

By game, we mean board games, videos games and so much more. No grown adult can get over the thrill of a simple game like Jenga or Monopoly. But of course, you can always snuggle up in bed and fight zombies on your Xbox, too!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

#6 GO TO AN ESCAPE ROOM

Escape rooms are popping up everywhere. Book a time slot and get ‘trapped’ in a room together with your partner. This simple game will have you working together through communication, and it will certainly strengthen your relationship while learning new attributes about each other.

8. PLAN A PICNIC

Not a lavish sit-down dinner kind of couple? You aren’t the only one! Plan a picnic instead. Take the chance to whip up dishes with love for each other, then find a spot in Singapore that bears symbolic meaning to your relationship. Perhaps it is the park where you first kissed, or the Barrage where you first flew a kite together?

8. HIT THE BEACH

When was the last time you took a leisurely stroll along the sandy shores and stop to listen to the sounds of the waves crashing? The beach is somewhere so relaxing, and it calms all senses. Take your lover’s hand, kick off your shoes, and just frolic under the sun at the beach! The best things in life are free like that.
