To celebrate Singapore’s 55th birthday this year, Creamier Handcrafted Ice Cream
& Coffee has joined hands with a local beancurd stall, Pure Soya Bean—located at the Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre at Blk 127 Lor 1—to come up with a new seasonal “Tau Huay” (Beancurd) ice cream flavour.

Creamier Handcrafted Ice Cream & Coffee is known for churning out interesting ice cream flavours such as Sea Salt Gula Melaka, Blue Pea Vanilla as well as the popular White Rabbit Ice Cream.

Now, they have created “Tau Huay” (Beancurd) ice cream flavour which is made with organic and GMO-free soya milk. In addition, they also folded in beancurd and the soya bean “zha” (pulp) in the Tau Huay ice cream to enhance its flavour.

Best known for being a heartland artisanal ice cream gem, Creamier has long been a go-to for lovers of good, honest ice cream and coffee, as well as a humble respite from the hustle and bustle. Sad to say, the folks here will be hanging up their aprons come 30 June 2019.

No concrete reason was given about their sudden decision to close, but here’s what we do know based on their announcement so far.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

The news comes from a recent Facebook post from them thanking their loyal supporters and their landlady, announcing their eventual closure come late June and informing the public about an apparent ‘farewell gift’ that will come in the form of a special flavour.

This special flavour, although still unknown, serves to commemorate the shop and its nearly-a-decade-long stint in Toa Payoh. Whether it’ll be a hit or not is secondary, but what we can be sure of is that it’ll taste bittersweet, similar to how we’ll feel inside.

Local cafe famed for their specialty desserts – Sunday Folks – opened its doors about a year ago at Chip Bee Gardens and took our nation by storm with its irresistibly delicious sweets.

Café hoppers and foodies alike flocked to the spacious café to sample Sunday Folks’ delectable offerings of freshly baked Belgian waffles and mouthwatering ice cream. The one-year-old café’s menu is fairly limited – there are only six ice cream flavours – yet sees no lack of customers till date.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

You can also have your ice cream on a waffle slice (S$8.80) or two slices (S$11.80) – they will be paired with blueberries, sliced strawberries, maple syrup and chocolate hazelnut sauce.
