FLIPPER’S Singapore is opening its second outlet at Bugis Junction and it slated to open on 25 October 2021. The new outlet will have several new dishes which will be exclusive to the Bugis outlet.

For those of you who are not familiar with FLIPPER’S, it is a famous soufflé pancakes chain in Japan.

FLIPPER’S opened its first outpost in Singapore at Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Ngee Ann City in Nov 2020.

FLIPPER’S Singapore obtained its halal certification for the Takashimaya outlet in September last month and our Muslim friends can also enjoy their popular soufflé pancakes.

Here are some of the new items which are only available at FLIPPER’S Singapore new outlet at Bugis Junction:

• Honeycomb Butternut kiseki pancake
• Millennial pancake with daifuku
• Maple bacon and fried egg pancake
• Salmon avocado pancake

If you’ve never tried, soufflé pancakes melt-in-your-mouth and are just as tasty as they look. Basically, they’re so light and airy you can imagine yourself eating a pancake cloud.

Leung Sang HK Pastries—our favourite egg tart shop in Singapore—has opened a second outlet at Bugis Street.

Unlike the original shop at Jalan Membina (opposite of Tiong Bahru Plaza) which is an old-school bakery, the flagship outlet at 247 Victoria Street has a modern decor which looks like a Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng.

We first discovered Leung Sang HK Pastries years ago in 2007 when it was at its original location at Sago Street in Chinatown. We have been big fans of their Hong Kong-style egg tarts with amazingly buttery flaky pastry ever since.

The egg custard encased in the pastry is of a pastel yellow shade—not the typical rich hue you might see, but what do you know? It is so silky, creamy and sweet! This is hands down one of the best egg tarts you can find in Singapore.

They also have Western-style egg tarts which come in a different shell—the harder kind that tastes more subtle. While it uses the same egg custard filling, we prefer the Hong Kong-style egg tart’s flaky puff pastry.

They moved to Jalan Membina (opposite of Tiong Bahru Plaza) a few years ago and their egg tarts are still as good as before. This old-school looking confectionery may look next to nothing, but their egg tarts are to die for.

Leung Sang HK Pastries’ flagship outlet at 247 Victoria Street has officially opened its door to the public on 24 July 2021.

Other than egg tarts, you can also get other Hong Kong-style pastries including Polo Buns, Lotus Paste w Salted Egg Puff, and Char Siew Sou.

The new location opposite Bugis Junction is definitely more accessible than the original outlet at Jalan Membina and we can definitely see ourselves heading there more often.

DULCET & FIG

Dulcet Fig is an eclectic store that stocks independent labels from both Singapore and overseas. These mainly consist of vintage pieces like apparels and accessories that are sourced from the store owners travels. Most of their items also support a social cause such as fair trade labels and eco-friendly brands.
