nydc Christmas Dinner Special

nydc Christmas Special

One of the main problems everyone faces during the festive periods is to choose a suitable place which serves good food at reasonable prices. Most restaurants tend to jack up their prices during Christmas. And that has in turn deterred people from wining and dining during the supposed joyous occasion. But thanks to Santa we still have pocket-friendly options around, and nydc is one of them.

This Christmas, the household name has put together a Christmas menu which will run from 18 November till 31 December 2013, and for 2013′s theme, it is heavily inspired by Santa – to spread joy. nydc’s Christmas specials will definitely spoil your palates without having to break the bank! The small plates are only S$9.80, while the big plates range from S$16.80 for the Traditional Cornish Hen, to S$28.80 for a 230g Wagyu Steak Frites. A mini log cake is also available at S$6.80. With such irresistible offerings, there is really no need for second thoughts about stepping in to the comfortable diner with your loved ones to celebrate Christmas, and to create memories to conclude the year.

nydc Christmas Party

I had a Christmas party with 30 of my readers at nydc last week and we sampled 10 of the new festive dishes from nydc’s Christmas menu for 2013. It goes without saying that everyone left with very happy tummies and a night of memories to always remember.

Here are the highlights of the festive dishes that we had at nydc’s Christmas party.

Roots Coffee Roaster Bangkok

Roots Coffee Roaster

Roots Coffee Roaster is opened by Varatt Vichit-Vadakan (or Tae) who is also behind Roast Restaurant – one of my favourite brunch spots in Bangkok. It is a boutique coffee roastery on the quieter side of Soi Ekamai, which is just one street away from the popular Thonglor.

Besides supplying coffee to its sister restaurant and other cafes in town, it also conducts coffee appreciation classes and barista training courses during the week. As such, the cafe only opens to the public on weekends.

The Entertainer App

Dining out is becoming increasingly expensive, and as of recent times, you have to spend at least S$30 for a decent meal. But what if I tell you that it is possible to enjoy an indulging meal at nice restaurants like B @ Rochester, The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill, and The Disgruntled Chef at half the price?

I am always on the lookout for good dining deals and promotions, so when I found out about The Entertainer App, I knew I have to share it with all of you.

The Pelican

The Entertainer has just launched in Singapore and it offers an array of ‘buy one, get one free’ offers to the best restaurants, casual dining, swanky bars, popular nightspots, attractions, spas, and even hotel stays in Singapore. It is not just a must-have for locals, but also for visitors to Singapore. And the cherry on top? The Entertainer App http://www.theentertainerme.com/singapore/ is free!

This is one app that no one should miss out on, because it opens doors to the best deals in town. Rollin Farm (Ruo Yin Nong Chang) Taichung

Ruo Ying Farm

Minsu, also known as homestay, is a popular type of accommodation in Taiwan. It is a localised lodging, and often come in different themes. Rollin Farm (Ruo Yin Nong Chang) is a place that you can consider when visiting Taichung. It is a peaceful and serene spot to get away from the city for a quiet retreat.

The Minsu is not only well-furnished — our room feels like a five-star hotel — but they also come with a stunning view overlooking the mountains. If you have no plans for an overnight stay, a day trip to this scenic part of Taichung is almost as wondrous.

Little Bao Hong Kong

Little Bao

Over the past year, Hong Kong has seen the addition of many new fantastic restaurants, and during my recent trip, I had a hard time trying to fit in as many places as I could in my list of to-eat restaurants. One of the most hyped-about restaurants in Hong Kong right now is Little Bao at Staunton Street in Central. Think an American diner with a modern Asian twist, dishing out familiar and comforting renditions of our Asian favourites over the counter and in many refreshing manners. The place may be tiny, but never dead. If any, it is full of energy, and is the kind of swanky spot which will easily fit into the linear of New York or London.
