What we love most about La Brasserie (pictured in the first photo of this post), other than its exquisite offerings, is that it is effortlessly chic and a gorgeous place to dine in. This restaurant at Fullerton Bay Hotel is a venue that works perfectly for all occasions – be it a business luncheon with work associates, a gathering with your pals, or a romantic date with your partner.

The Duck Confit is one of the best in town, and something that I will return for again and again. The Lemon Tart is also very good. If it is your first-time there, make sure to try these two items.

JAAN restaurant at level 70 of Swissotel has been ranked among the best restaurants in Asia. It really deserves every accolade it has earned.

When you eat at one of the top tables, you are not just paying for the food. You’re also paying for everything that comes along with it: the location, the rent, the service, the plates, the view, and the ambience. JAAN has it all – the central location at City Hall; highest restaurant in Singapore; breathtaking view of the city’s skyline; knowledgeable servers who do a good job between the dining room and kitchen; and most importantly, good food.

A meal at JAAN is not cheap. I can’t afford to eat there all the time, but for a lavish meal like this, enjoyed with a amazing view – it is a fine way to splurge during a special occasion.

MITZO

We will go out on a limb and say that Mitzo at Grand Park Orchard is the sexiest Chinese restaurant in Singapore. It combines a contemporary and intimate design with modern Cantonese cuisine. OSO RISTORANTE

Housed in a heritage shophouse, at the quaint corner of Outram Park, Oso Ristorante is an institute for Italian fine dining. The folks here take their cuisine and beverages very seriously, and for diners, a meal here can be a lavish affair of the finest cooking and wines.

The place isn’t too big, but it comes with private rooms, cheese room and cigar room. The menu covers the usual categories, including appetisers, pasta, risotto, fish, meat, and dessert. The 3-course set lunch menu is reasonably priced at S$40++/pax.

SKIRT RESTAURANT

Skirt at the swanky W Hotel at Sentosa Cove is a top-class steakhouse that is surprisingly affordable. The restaurant itself is elegant and stunning. It is classy, yet not pretentious; it gives off a cool and hip vibe.

A meal at Skirt need not be expensive if you order wisely. Their signature 250g Skirt Steak is only $48, and other affordable cuts include a 250g Irish Grass-fed Sirloin ($35), and the 250g Cape Grim Australian Ribeye ($42). Located at One Fullerton, The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill has an inviting setting with plush sofa, and wall panels that are made of copper plates, and they look like pieces of glitters. Not to mention that it also has a great view overlooking the Marina Bay area.

THE WHITE RABBIT

Housed in a beautifully restored old chapel, The White Rabbit is one of the most romantic restaurants in Singapore, and a place that I always recommend for a special date.

The White Rabbit used to be rather inconsistent in the past, but that is no longer the case with the return of Chef Benjamin Tan (the restaurant’s opening sous-chef) to helm the kitchen. The food is still pretty much classic European comfort food with familiar flavours, but the dishes are elevated to something special with the quality of ingredients.
