WHY DOES EATIGO WORK?

All these discounts are great, but is there a catch?

Not at all. The app makes use of yield management to bring peak-hour crowds to off-peak hours.

Restaurants are often packed during traditional mealtimes but tend to be almost empty during off-peak hours (say, 3pm). This isn’t good for restaurants, especially when costs for manpower, electricity, water and rent are still being incurred.

But would you shift your eating times for no reason at all? We wouldn’t too. eatigo’s yield management gives us that reason. These time-based discounts are offered throughout the day. Higher discounts of up to 50% offered during off-peak hours, while peak hours yield lower discounts, at a minimum of 10%.

This way, while us diners are enjoying meals at a lower cost, restaurants can also continue turning a profit during off-peak hours even after the given discounts, resulting in a win-win situation for both.

This post is brought to you by eatigo.

Korean BBQ Buffets is considered a past time to us; well, awesome socialising activity while stuffing ourselves silly, if you insist.
Cooking up a delicious meal full of marinated meats and seafood a la minute can only be a good thing – even better when it is a buffet, so you can have them all free flow!

What we love most about Don Dae Bak Korean BBQ is that the restaurant uses charcoal grill instead of the usual gasoline grill. That sure makes a lot of difference to our meats!

This small outlet along Kreta Ayer is just like any usual Korean BBQ place – round communal tables that is surrounded by kimchi and pickles (free flow), all your sauces and chilli, and loud Korean pop songs on repeat mode.

At S$23.90+, don’t expect wagyu beef or kurobuta pork. However, what you’d get is a very decent selection of meat such as Marinated Beef, Beef Brisket, Pork Belly, Spicy Pork Belly, Shoulder Loin, Marinated Shoulder Loin, Marinated Chicken, and Spicy Marinated Chicken.

I’m Kim Korean BBQ is a Korean buffet restaurant at the Singapore School Of The Arts (SOTA). The concept of the restaurant is pretty straightforward – pick from a selection of cooked food, soups, condiments, meats, drinks and more.

They have two services – one for lunch and one for dinner. The lunch service starts from S$14++ and the dinner service starts from S$22.90++. The lunch offerings is pretty similar to the night service, with the exception of a few meats and cooked dishes.

It is precisely the price and the extensive fare that will keep you going back.

We picked out a selection of cooked food and we were rather impressed.

First, we went right for the Bushimgae, or better known as Korean pancake. We were lucky enough to get a fresh batch so it was warm and very tasty.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

They have a huge selection of vegetables, mushrooms and condiments for the BBQ. They have specially mixed onions and other condiments such as garlic and more. You can also grab some enoki mushrooms that are great when grilled.

Seafood is not available for lunch, but that’s fine. Let’s talk about the meats.

We tried everything they had that day, but our hearts went out to the Pork Belly and the Chuck Tender Beef.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

The former is unpretentious and classic, and have it wrapped in a lettuce leaf with some sauces and you will understand the true joy of Korean BBQ. The latter was as its name suggest – very tender, even when slightly over-grilled.

Other meats you can expect here are Marinated Pork Belly, Spicy Pork Collar, Garlic Chicken and signature ‘Volcano’ Chicken. More premium meats are actually available for dinner.

The Spicy Beef Soup was satisfying with chunks of beef and vegetables, while the Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) was slightly underwhelming.

I’m Kim Korean BBQ is certainly wallet-friendly and we can see why it is so popular. They also have special (even lower) prices for students on weekdays.

Lunch: Mon to Fri: $14++ (adult); $9++ (kid)
Sat, Sun & PH: $24++ (adult); $18++ (kid)

Dinner: Mon to Fri: $22.90++ (adult); $18++ (kid)
