Officially opened on 03 July 2017, Brawn & Brains Coffee Run is a new coffee kiosk by the good folks behind Brawn And Brains at Guillemard Road.

Situated at Fragrance Hotel – Imperial along Penhas Road—just a short walk away from the Lavender train station—this coffee kiosk is a great spot for those who work in the neighbourhood.

Brawn & Brains Coffee Run is a grab-and-go type of coffee joint with no seats or tables.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Upon arriving at this humble little establishment, we were greeted by really friendly staff members who were willing to educate us on the coffee bean varietals that they carry there. Baristas this passionate about their brew is almost always a sure sign that the coffee is going to be good.

The kiosk offers beverages ranging from organic teas to sparkling sodas and great coffee.

The signature house blend ‘Pen & Pencil’ which comprises bean blends from Ethiopia, Columbia, and Brazil is roasted in-house to produce a flavour that is nutty and chocolatey.

Each sip of the Latte (S$5.30) was smooth and creamy without that the bitter mouthful you often get with most artisanal coffee.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Also, for avid coffee lovers out there, they have a great house blend called Pen & Pencil, using beans from Ethiopia, Columbia and Brazil. This produces a smooth, nutty and slightly chocolate-y taste that is easy to drink. They also have another great single-origin coffee – Nicaragua Jinotega, which is a fair trade organic bean rich with a hint of aromatic vanilla.

While we were a little upset that their popular Earl Grey Pound Cake was sold out for the day, we found a saving grace – Earl Grey Croissant (S$3.80). It was nothing like we’ve ever tasted.

The croissant was just the right amount of fluffy and buttery while the earl grey frosting on top wasn’t overpoweringly sweet.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Almost all the savoury offerings were extremely tempting but we went for the most unique option – Curried Chicken Wrap (S$10.90). For a friendly price tag of S$10, you get two huge portions of the wrap and some chips on the side.

The rich spices from the chicken is evident and we loved how they used chicken breast, together with various vegetables such as purple cabbage and rocket, to make it a healthier option.

What we saw and tasted about Brawn & Brains, we certainly liked.
