For those of you who are familiar with the online scene, I’m sure you know that Social Media Week took place on 13-17 Feb this year. I was invited by the kind folks at Harbour City – the biggest shopping mall in Hong Kong – to go to the land of dim sum as a speaker for one of the four social media events that they’ve organised.

The topic for our discussion – “Building an appetite for social: What’s cooking in the F&B industry” – as you might have guessed, had something to do with food. Our #SMWHKFood panel of six spoke on different things ranging from ‘which are our favourite social media platforms,’ to ‘how to make people hungry.’

This was right up my alley. We had lots of fun.

Even though this was a “work” trip, I managed to find time to tick off some of the places on my must-try list in Hong Kong (more on that in another post), and between meals, I did an interview marathon with the Hong Kong Media: Oriental Daily, HKET, WOM guide, and TimeOut magazine Hong Kong.

Photo credit: Cson. This was taken during a quick photoshoot with Han Huohuo (on the left), the top fashion blogger in China.

I’m back in Singapore now. It’s a shame that I didn’t have more time to check out the Hong Kong dining scene, but I’m sure I will be going back very soon. In any case, I’m having a giveaway next week, so remember to watch this space. Have a good weekend you guys.

Note: I travelled to Hong Kong as a guest of Harbour City. No monetary benefits were received, only air tickets and hotel accommodations were sponsored.
