My Melody Café is coming to Singapore really soon and it is going to be at Suntec City! My Melody, commonly known as My Melo, is a white rabbit from the Japanese characterisation company Sanrio. She is a well-loved rabbit and is a good friend of Hello Kitty.

The cafe is going to have a cute indoor al fresco garden setting. You can also look forward to a floral arch, garden-themed mural wall and a cottage house. It will be a dream come true for fans of My Melody.

Look forward to very adorably-styled dishes including 5 mains, 6 desserts and 7 character-customised drinks. They are certainly going to get a lot of attention on social media; but of course, with all these thematic cafes and styled dishes, let’s just not have so many expectations of the standard of the food, yet.

On a side note, we are certainly hoping that My Melody Café will be having almond pound cake—My Melody’s favourite food—on the dessert menu.

Neko no Niwa, Singapore’s first cat cafe, is officially opening today. Located at Boat Quay, the cafe is named Neko no Niwa, which means ‘cat garden’ in Japanese.

For the uninitiated, a pet cafe is a theme cafe where you pay a time-based fee to watch and play with the residing pets while you have your drink and desserts.

When we were in Seoul earlier this year, we discovered many cats and dogs cafes, and it made us wonder why no one thought of opening a similar concept in Singapore, Now there is finally a place for cat lovers to gather. Neko no Niwa has 13 resident cats, and it is charging S$12/pax for the first hour, and S$5/pax for the subsequent 1/2 hour block. Now, we hope someone will open a dog cafe in Singapore next!
