Tucked away in Lorong Kilat, Revelry is a waffle specialty cafe in the west of Singapore which boasts a lively yet enticing vibe that illuminates the entire street. Stepping in, your spirits will instantly be lifted by the vibrant colours and colourful wall murals.

Get even more excited as Revelry has a waffle pizza on their menu. The O.K Waffle Pizza (S$16) consists of a unique combination of Otah chunks, kai lan and baked mozzarella.

We decided to go for the classics and one of the most popular items on the menu – Chicken & Waffles (S$17).

The combination of the crisp waffles and the juicy deep-fried chicken thigh was a match made in heaven and all the textures just weaved together seamlessly. The seasoning on the fried chicken thigh could not have been done better and both the spices and the batter of the chicken was done right.

Since Revelry specialises in waffles, we definitely had no qualms about the one that was served to us. It was both fluffy on the inside and crisp on there outside. The Chicken & Waffles combination also comes with maple syrup on the side, and lettuce and cherry tomatoes for an added crunch.

If Chicken & Waffles are not up your alley, some other savoury creations to try are Prawn Avocado Tartare (S$17.50), Strawberries & Cheese (S$14) and the adorably named Monkey King (S$14) – which is really a dessert waffle with banana cake chunks, caramelised bananas, toasted walnuts and vanilla ice cream.
