Drips Bakery Café opens its second outlet at Ngee Ann City. Established in 2010, Drips Bakery Café is a café in Tiong Bahru (Tiong Poh Road) which is known for its tarts and some of their signatures include Seasonal Fruits Tart, Baked Lemon Tart and Choc Truffle Tart.

The new space at Ngee Ann City is located at Tower B #B2-31, near to Wangz Cafe and Guardian. There’s only have limited seatings with a few tables.

Other than their signature tarts, Drips Bakery Café also serves a variety of cakes and pastries.

Having been around for eight long years, this homegrown brand will be sorely missed as our go-to cafe at Orchard Road for their decadent mains and exquisite desserts. For fans of The Marmalade Pantry, you have one last chance to bid adieu to their ION Orchard branch from now to 12 August 2018.

We also had a taste of their Fish & Chips (S$23), which comprises Breaded Mackerel Fish, Truffle Fries (hurray!), Mixed Greens, Malt Vinegar and Citrus Mayo. What pleased us was the choice of Mackerel, as opposed to the regular dory fillet; the Mackerel used was really fresh.

The Carbonara (S$19) was executed gracefully, with the dish featuring crispy bacon drenched in a delightful egg cream that was neither too overpowering nor cheesy.

For those who love a good deal, drop by this outlet on weekdays during 11am to 3pm to make the most out of their lunch specials (S$20).

This relatively new addition to the cafe scene is a pleasant one. Spacious, dimly-lit and sexy, very good green tea latte and more. Fronted by the guys behind label Benjamin Barker, The Assembly Ground at The Cathay is fast becoming our favourite spot to have a break when we are at the Dhoby Ghaut area.

With a predominant wooden fixture, the cafe is an ideal option when you need a spot for casual lunch and to catch up with your friends. A selection of creative and inspirational magazines are also available for your reading pleasure, making this space an even cosier one amidst the busy crowd in town. The next time you need a cafe option in town, drop by The Assembly Ground.

For a start, the Green Tea Latte (S$5.50) is the bomb. We are huge fans of matcha lattes, and becayse there are too many in Singapore that disappoint, we have this constant fear (of disappointment) whenever we order one. But the one here gave us hopes again, and we’ve been in love since.

Of course, their regular brews are aromatic too. Cappuccinos and Flat Whites are at S$5.50 each for single shot.

On the food menu, they’ve got you covered with appetizers, sandwiches and burgers, salads and soup, pastas and pizzas and brunch food. Among the many, the Porcini Cream pasta (S$17.50) deserves a mention. Think a trio of mushrooms, truffle-scented egg and generous amount of shaved parmesan.

As fans of scrambled eggs, we had to try the Omega 3 Scrambled Eggs (S$14). A shame it was not as runny as we’d like it to be. Other outstanding creations to order include the Ragout of Beef with Rosti (S$22), Beef Chilli Fettucine (S$16) and The Assembly Wagyu Burger S$24).
