Popular Sando Cafe Hello Arigato has officially opened a new outlet in Everton Park neighbourhood which is known for its charming and laid-back atmosphere.

The neighbourhood is home to several specialty coffee shops and cafes—including Nylon Coffee Roasters, Glass Roasters, Folks & Stories, Dearborn Granola, Gelatolabo—which draw in both locals and tourists.

The new Hello Arigato Everton Outlet will feature a bakery alongside their kitchen. Other than their popular Sando, you will also get to enjoy an array of freshly baked goods along ma range of artisanal drinks including coffee and matcha in the morning.

Exclusive to the Everton location is their first ever Arigato Donut Bar where they will be introducing some freshly made sweet and savoury Japanese milk donuts.

Expect flavours including Classic Milk, Matcha, Kaya Butter, Donutella, and Ondeh Ondeh, as well as new savory options like Ham & Cheese Bomb and J Curry.

During lunch service, Hello Arigato will continue to serve our classic Sandos made with Shokupan bread from their bakery.

Regulars will be familiar with the crowd favourites such as their Tamago and Gyu Sando. You can also look forward to outlet-exclusive dishes including Kong Bah Sando, Whisky BBQ Katsu Sando, and Salted Egg Yolk Tater Tots.

Looking for a healthy lunch option in Everton Park? You can always have a poke bowl at Alakai; diners get to customise their own bowls or pick from their Poke Plate Favourites which is a pre-selected range of poke bowls.

#2 AT THE MYO

At The Myo used to be a Kopitiam stall called ‘Sebastian’s Fusion Cuisine’ which has since rebranded itself and shifted to Everton Park. The no-frills cafe is near to Outram MRT Station and offers both Western and Japanese cuisines at wallet-friendly prices that do not include GST or service charge.

#3 COZY CORNER COFFEE

As you guessed it, their speciality is coffee and we highly recommend the latte (from S$4.50) for two reasons, it is an excellent blend and secondly, you will be treated to adorable latte art that you can admire (or snap a few photos of).

You can also expect full mains here that range from general cafe fare to heavier options such as pasta. However, our advice is to stick to the coffee and desserts to ensure no misses.

#4 EVERTON CREAMERY

Ice cream party! As you have probably guessed, Everton Creamery’s speciality is ice cream, specifically gelato and sorbets. The wide range of gelato choices here is impressive and guess what? They are all freshly made daily. Think pistachio, matcha, dark chocolate and more flavours at S$4 for a scoop.

For freshly made gelato, the price point is reasonable and you only need to pay S$3 for a second scoop. You can expect fruitier options in sorbet form if you prefer your ice cream less rich and more refreshing.

#5 GRIN AFFAIR

Cake jars that look almost too good to be eaten. The cake jars at Grin Affair are perfect as gifts as they are all packaged beautifully with a general price range of just S$5.50 per jar.

#6 JUST WANT COFFEE

Strategically located, Just Want Coffee is a cafe that boasts a comforting ambience, great for mid-afternoon coffee with a good book for a nice gathering with a small group of friends. Serving more than 30 different types of coffee, you will be spoilt for choice.

#7 MARBLE BISTRO

As the name of the cafe suggests, Marble Bistro is a beautiful marble-themed bistro that is hidden within Everton Park. The dining establishment is helmed by a team of graduates from the Culinary Institute of America who has a partnership with Singapore Institute of Technology.

Drop by for their afternoon tea set from 2.30pm to 5pm, which features a slice of cake and a drink starting from S$8. Otherwise, they also offer a 7-course tasting menu at S$38.

#8 NYLON COFFEE ROASTERS

Any coffee-enthusiast will be familiar with this name. Nylon Coffee Roasters i one of the first micro-roasteries in Singapore, using beans from all around the world (and yes, you can pick one that you like for your coffee if it is in stock).

From lattes to ‘Hand-poured’ coffee, Nylon Coffee Roasters is a must-visit place for some of the best coffee you can find in Singapore.

#9 WALNUT TREE

Want something other than cafe fare? How about a humble little Korean restaurant that offers hearty and authentic Korean fare?

This adorably-named Walnut Tree is a crowd-favourite with very reasonably priced items. Kimchi Fried Rice (S$10), Red Chilli Tteokbokki (S$8) and freshly made Gimbap (from S$7) are just some of the tasty things you can expect here. Nothing makes us quite as satisfied as fuss-free and unpretentious fare that sticks to its roots.

The Provision Shop at the charming Everton Park neighbourhood is a casual eatery that is opened bt Cocotte’s head chef, with hotelier Loh Lik Peng taking a consulting role in the project. We love the vibe of the cafe, and we love that it serves simple yet delicious meals at affordable prices.

Some dishes that are worth trying are Reuben sandwich (S$10), eggs Benedict (S$10), and the homemade pastas (S$14 – S$16). Remember to save room for desserts, too. The blueberry lemon cake (S$6.50) is worth a try.

Everton Park is quickly becoming the latest it neighbourhood. Some call it the new Tiong Bahru, and it is not difficult to see why. Since Nylon Coffee Roasters and Grin Affair started here in 2012, this quiet HDB neighbourhood has been drawing foodies to explore the area.

Today, there are eight cafes in this enclave, and we won’t be surprised if more cafes and shops choose to open here in the future. You know that Everton Park is officially cool when hotelier Loh Lik Peng – who is behind many boutique hotels and restaurants in off-the-radar neighbourhoods – has also helped to set up a cafe here.

BATTERWORKS

Batterworks has the usual desserts like carrot cake, chocolate fudge brownies and cupcakes, but what makes them stand out is its range of savoury pastries such as roasted pork in flaky pastries, and curry flaky pastries. There is also a dine-in menu which offers inexpensive savoury food. You can find main courses (S$4.50 – S$6.90) like lamb stew pot pie, chicken bulgogi wrap and pulled pork wrap.

GRIN AFFAIR

One of the pioneer cafes in Everton Park, Grin Affair offers a range of mousse cakes (S$6 – S$6.50) that are made with fresh cream, and served in jars.

Flavours include lychee with passion fruit, strawberry with cream cheese, cookies & cream, hazelnut, and matcha azuki. The cakes are not particularly fanciful, but we love them because they are comforting and rustic – the kind that you can spend your afternoon with over a cup of tea.

JUST WANT COFFEE

Just Want Coffee is the place to stop by for your caffeine fix for those who are working in the area. This coffee bar first started in Johor Bahru in 2009, and the Everton Park outlet is its first venture in Singapore. It serves an impressive selection of brews made from house blends and single-origin beans. Cakes are also available to go along with your cuppa.
