#1 AND ALL THINGS DELICIOUS

Technically, this isn’t a sticky date pudding, but a Sticky Toffee Pudding (S$5.90). This amazing concoction by the folks from And All Things Delicious is certainly a top contender for us. Despite not serving it with ice cream, the pudding itself is so fantastic, we actually didn’t realise the ice cream wasn’t around!

#2 GROUP THERAPY

For S$9.50, you get a pretty substantial portion of Sticky Date Pudding at one of the cosiest cafes, Group Therapy. However, our only concern was that the pudding itself wasn’t warm enough, hence the lack of contrast between it and the ice cream. It is, however, still a pretty decent one that we wouldn’t mind heading back for.

#3 HABITAT COFFEE

Some dub it as ‘the best they ever had’, and though we do not have the same claim, Habitat Coffee’s rendition (S$12) is still one to try. The addition of walnuts and toffee sauce sure enhances the overall taste.

#4 MEZZA9 (SUNDAY BRUNCH)

We were delighted to these served as individual portions in adorable mason jars at mezza9′s awesome Sunday Brunch*. The sticky date pudding is served beside a DIY toffee sauce counter – so drizzle as much sauce as you like, before adding a sprinkle of sea salt (if you want to) on the top. Honestly one of the best we’ve had lately!

*Do note that brunch items at mezza9 are on a rotational basis. Do call in advance to check whether the pudding is available to avoid disappointment.

This is a classic and it probably needs no introduction at all. PS.Cafe has long been known to serve up one of the best sticky date puddings (SS$15) around, and we can only agree. This warm plate of pudding is always served at the perfect temperature and has a spot-on balance of flavours – worth every penny!

Prive’s sticky date pudding (S$12) is one of the best looking ones around. This neat option has been around for as long as we can remember, and is one that Singaporeans love for its density.

The Lokal’s version (S$10) actually looked pretty lacklustre and we were honestly not expecting much from the first look, but it has a pretty robust ginger note and generous caramel sauce. The portion is also substantial for two to share.
