Bangkok may be known for its street food, but the vibrant city is in the midst of developing itself into one of the best places in Asia for cafe hopping. Some of the cafes are inspired by local traditions while others are infused with foreign cultures and ideas brought back from overseas trips.

It is truly amazing to see how concept cafes and restaurants pop up one after another these few years and most of them boast incredibly beautiful interiors. These dining spots are great for a coffee break, to munch on some pastries or to indulge in full meals.

We came up with a list of 12 Most Beautiful Restaurants And Cafes In Bangkok for you to include into your itinerary. Remember to take lots of photos!

#1 AUDREY CAFE & BISTRO

Are you a fan of everything monochrome? Then you should head to Audrey Cafe & Bistro which is a predominantly monochrome cafe with cascading vines and fairy lights.

Audrey has a menu that serves both Western and Thai, and they have pretty decent desserts too. The one at Thonglor is our favourite, but other outlets can be found at major shopping malls in Bangkok such as Central Embassy, Siam Centre and EmQuartier.

Blue Dye Cafe is a captivating coffee spot in Thonglor district with photogenic spots at every corner of the cafe. Situated in an old two-storey house, the first floor of the cafe is dedicated to serving wholesome brunches and excellent coffee while the second level is where you can do some retail shopping.

The cafe also has a mini gallery featuring porcelain tableware, coffee making machines and pottery. If you are undecided about the food, we recommend trying their Moo Nam Tok (THB220/S$9.05).

Ekkamai Macchiato is a homey cafe located along Ekkamai Soi 12. While there is no lack of good coffee shops in Ekkamai district, this cosy cafe ranks high up our list for making us feel completely at home.

Those who are looking for a simple place to have great coffee will not leave disappointed. You can also spend some time browsing through magazines that are provided on a rack near to the coffee counter.

#6 FEATHERSTONE BISTRO CAFE

Both a cafe and a lifestyle shop, this cafe is one of the prettiest finds in Thonglor. It is like an enchanted forest—think butterflies, stained glass and the dreamiest flowers hanging from the ceiling.

Its food menu is not the most interesting, though. The pasta was pretty mediocre, but pizzas were not too bad and we enjoyed ours. What you must order are the signature drinks. We had the Purple Lullaby, and it really is a work of art; just look at the ice cubes!

Given its popularity, Karmakamet Diner needs no introduction. The space is well-furnished with a rustic touch, with so much thought put into every detail.

Brunch items include Egg White Frittata and Full Breakfast. The must-try dessert there is their super photogenic Strawberry In The Clouds—strawberry shortcake with rainbow cotton candy.

You can expect nothing less from the creative minds behind this concept cafe who converted an old warehouse container into a rustic-looking cafe adorned with glittering chandeliers, dark wooden furniture and a bookshelf filled with books of many genres.

The Blooming Gallery Tea Cafe & Bar is a rustic cafe hidden in The Ei8ht Thonglor shopping mall. Walking into the cafe is like wandering into a mini secret garden where you will be surrounded by colourful flowers and lush greenery.

A Path In The Forest (THB380/S$15.63) and The Blooming Garden (THB350/S$14.40) are two gorgeous desserts to order when you are there. While the taste is nothing amazing, they are a visual feast for the eyes.

With 28 restaurants, cafes and shops to boast, it is an enchanting space in Thonglor that opened its doors to the public in January 2016.
Boasting an elegant vibe, the classy restaurant’s hip clientele consists mainly of young professionals, fashionable youths and tourists. At the same time, the addition of greens hanging around the restaurant makes it a welcoming interior.

You can expect beautifully plated dishes at The Never Ending Summer to be a feast for both your eyes and taste buds—the dining experience there is certainly well-deserving of an encore.

The modern industrial interior features concrete walls, aged red brick walls, vintage lamps and teak timber furniture. The large seating also provides ample space for those who are visiting in groups to sit together without having to squeeze with others.

At the back of the restaurant, you will notice an open concept kitchen where you can watch the chefs live in action through a polished glass partition.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="width: 336px;height: 280px"></ins>//

It is impossible not to find something that would suit your preference there as The Never Ending Summer’s menu is more than 15 pages long. We recommend trying their local Thai dishes as every dish we ordered was mouth-watering and deserving of high praises.

Ko Mu Yang (THB390/S$16.04) is an excellent grilled Kurobuta pork collar dish that was masterfully executed. Not only was the meat juicy, it came with the right proportion of fats and lean meat. Dip it into the sauces given at the side for a spicy kick.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="width: 336px;height: 280px"></ins>//

Another star dish we have to give special mention to is the Pla Yang (THB390/S$16.04). The grilled barramundi filets are covered with turmeric paste and topped off with crispy fried garlic.

The soft barramundi meat was incredibly delicious; all the distinct flavours from the turmeric marinade and fried garlic bits combined together was like a wild party in our mouths.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="width: 336px;height: 280px"></ins>//

If you are looking for something more filling, why not try their Khao Pad Gaag Muu (THB240/S$9.87)? It is essentially pork crackling fried rice and the generous portion makes it great for sharing among your dining companions.

You can choose to mix all the ingredients together and have it in one bite or try them separately.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="width: 336px;height: 280px"></ins>//

We are definitely not leaving out the Peek Gai (THB190/S$7.82) in this review too! The fried chicken wings may look nothing extraordinary but it was one of the best chicken wings we tried—there was a perfect balance between both sweet and savoury tones in the marinade.

Karmakamet is an established brand in Bangkok known for its range of aromatic products. It opened Everyday by Karmakamet, a cute and charming cafe in Silom which features its line of fragrances and lifestyle products. Karmakamet Diner, its full-fledged restaurant, is the latest creation.

Karmakamet Diner is a super gorgeous and stunning restaurant. The space is very well-furnished, with so much thoughts put into every detail. From coasters that are folded from envelopes, to the papers used to line the tables which are literally newspapers, albeit specially designed and printed ones bearing Karmakamet’s branding.

Potpourri sacks hanging from the ceiling, and gunny sacks littered around the mezzanine and shelves; bottles of Karmakamet’s essential oils sit neatly on racks in a neat linear. Even the music looping in the background is perfect for the environment – sexy, mysterious, and a little bit of whim, and it takes some discipline to not sip wine when the sun is still up. Well, if anytime is a good time for wine, they have an extensive wine list to allow for a toast or two.

The rustic wooden charm is one that is unpretentious, yet seemingly composed within a million kinds of magic. Indeed a secret world where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Karmakamet is a kingdom where homeage to restaurants is paid.

For such a nice restaurant, prices are not expensive. The brunch items range from THB270 for a Egg White Fritata to THB490 for a Full Breakfast. Main courses, like Lemon Pasta, Burgers and Spring Lemon Chicken, are also very affordably priced between THB 290 – 360.

Karmakamet Diner is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful restaurants in Bangkok. It is definitely a place that I would highly recommend to bring your partner for a nice date. Finding it can be slightly challenging, though. Its address is Sukhumvit Soi 24, but you need to enter via a small road beside Emporium Suites.

In The Mood for Love is a very sexy and chi-chi sushi bar that simulates a funky lounge, complete with an open counter where the chefs prepare the sushi right before you. Staff are dressed in plain black and they keep a distance from the tables, but just as well because it gives plenty of room for the décor to speak with you. The plush sofa booths with accompanying vintage floral seats feel like granny’s home in Victoria, but the brass table-side lamps illuminate with a mysterious sexiness that somehow sets your mind to singing along with the sensual lounge music.

The faint whispers from the chefs and the intermittent laughs from neighbouring tables seemed so distant, as our souls were sunk too deep in the very atmospheric bar – not once did we feel intruded in our booth seat, and as the dishes were quietly placed on our tables, we were growing accustomed to this intimate dinner setting that we forgot for a moment that we were actually in the bustling Bangkok.

Dinner was a pleasurable fare of one starter and two kinds of maki. Our appetites were whet with the Horenzo no Goma Ae – quite simply blanched fresh spinach drizzled with sesame dressing.

Amongst its many pages of creative rolls is a galore of sushi configurations to choose from, and after we took what seemed like forever to decide, we settled for the Very Salmon (THB380) and Happy-to-get-her (THB380).

The former is the classic salmon aburi roll, torched to a degree of sweetness, while still retaining the freshness in its raw form. It may not be the best rendition we have had, but it was one that made dinner at a bar like this very memorable.

Happy-to-get-her was indeed happy together. The combination of Hokkaido scallops, tobikko and spicy crabmeat is a brilliant move, for the sweet and chewy scallop posed as a contrast to the tangy and creamy spicy crabmeat. Of course, everyone loves their sushi with ounces of tobikko to chew on; oh, the glorious sweet and salty Japanese goodness.

Prices may be on the steeper side by Bangkok’s standard, but it is a place that is worth visiting. For one, with an evening experience like this, anyone would be In The Mood For Love – in abundance, perhaps.
