Penang St. Buffet – The Annual Halal-Certified Crab Madness Buffet Is Here

Crab Buffet

We have yet another crab buffet to share!

Following last year’s roaring success, Penang St. Buffet is reintroducing their value-for-money Crab Madness Buffet, with 10 different crab flavours from just S$19.90++ per child and S$59.90++ per adult. Kids under 1m dine for free.

All Singaporeans have had their fair share of classic chilli crabs, black pepper crabs and salted egg crabs. But have you ever had tom yam crabs, pumpkin crabs or stuffed chicken in crabs?!

Indulging in a few premium crabs can already cost up to hundreds of dollars when you dine out, but you only have to pay a minimal flat rate for endless crab servings here at Penang St. Buffet.

And because it is Penang St Buffet, you get unlimited helpings of Penang classic dishes included in the buffet line-up too! The Crab Madness Buffet starts from 15 July 2016 to 02 October 2016.

Black Pepper Crab

BLACK PEPPER CRAB

The freshly steamed Black Pepper Crab – slow-cooked with chopping onions, shallots, curry leaves and of course, black pepper – is topped with sliced capsicums and tomatoes. The aromatic black pepper crab is best eaten with fragrant white rice.

Butter Crab

BUTTER CRAB

Penang St. Buffet’s Butter Crabs are sinfully rich and boasts an irresistibly creamy texture. Dip the superbly fresh crabmeat into the viscous butter-based sauce for the extra kick. The gravy is cooked with condensed milk and chilli padi – which explains the delightful burst of flavours.

Chilli Crab

CHILLI CRAB

The Chilli Crabs here are slightly sweeter than the Singaporean-style chilli crab – but no less satisfying. Cooked with chilli, plum sauce and tomato, we love how the fresh crab meat absorbs the rich sweetness of the sauce.

Golden Sand Crab

GOLDEN SAND CRAB

The Golden Sand Crab was so delicious that we certainly wouldn’t mind going back for seconds and thirds. The chef cooks the seafood in generous amounts of butter, eggs, milk, sugar and curry leaves.

Kam Heong Crab

KAM HEONG CRAB

Kam Heong is a very popular way of cooking in Malaysia. When directly translated, it means “Golden Fragrance”. A myriad of ingredients such as chilli paste, curry leaves, curry powder, dried shrimps, lemon grass and shallots go into creating this, and the end result is robust flavours with strong spicy notes.

Salted Egg Yolk Crab

SALTED EGG CRAB

Sure, you may think salted egg crab is ubiquitous, but who cares? There’s no such thing as too much salted egg crabs! Penang St. Buffet’s Salted Egg Crab is characterised by its extremely thick salted egg yolk sauce that has been infused with butter and curry leaves.

Thai Style Crab

THAI STYLE CHICKEN AND CRAB STUFFED CRAB

The aroma of French toast permeated through the restaurant when this crab dish was served to us. This unique dish comprises a crab shell – stuffed with crab meat and minced chicken – that has been encased with a deep-fried egg wash. Perfect for those who are lazy to declaw a crab!

Tom Yum Crab

TOM YUM CRAB

Tom Yam fans rejoice! This Thai-inspired dish has successfully incorporated chilli padi, lemon grass, lime leaves, lime juice, tom yam paste and tomatoes into a crab; it’s like drinking tom yum soup, but in the form of a crab. A very intense-flavoured one, that is.

Typhoon Crab

TYPHOON CRAB

Hong Kong cuisine is usually not Halal-certified but Penang St. Buffet is not leaving the Muslim community out. Introducing Hong Kong-style Typhoon Crab into their Crab Madness Buffet, this succulent Typhoon Crab is stir-fried with black soya bean, corn, carrots, garlic and potatoes. So damn good!

Pumpkin Crab

PUMPKIN CRAB

Last but not least, the Pumpkin Crab is also a new addition to the Crab Madness Buffet. The crabs are cooked with onions, pumpkins and tomato paste. The sauce has chockful of pumpkin flesh; so sweet, they complemented the freshness of the crabs.

NOODLES STATION

The crab extravaganza doesn’t end at just crabs. Move on to the Noodles Station after you are finally done and that’s when another party begins! From Penang Crab Noodles Soup, Chilli Crab Sauce with Spaghetti to Crab Bee Hoon Soup, the crab buffet has plenty to offer for everyone.

LOCAL DELIGHTS

We’ll be frank that the most comforting food is always the one that we resonate best with. Ready for a Penang delicacies feast? Expect familiar dishes such as Cuttlefish Kangkong, Kalian with Crabmeat and Egg Tarts etc. The Penang Char Kway Teow is interestingly fried with crabmeat!

GRILL ITEMS STATION

Note that the Grill Items Station is only available on Session 2 (7.30pm – 10pm) and it showcases everyone’s favourite local grilled seafood dishes – Grilled Prawns, Grilled Lala, Grilled Stingray and Grilled Squid. It’s like bringing Chomp Chomp to Penang St. Buffet!
