I’m at Dynasty right now. There is NO dim sum. Only for lunch. Very expensive and nothing spectacular! An ordinary Chinese restaurant, except for the ambient, that is very beautiful. But I would never recommend! Waste of time, I’ could have gone to a Dim Tai Fung anywhere…

Awesome recommendations! I’ve tried Shun De Kung Restaurant in Jordan and they serve up very fresh and delicious dim sum at great value. It is a super local Hong Kong experience but there is a weekly gathering with a local food guide to help break it down for tourists and those new to dim sum. I’ve been to one and had a great time.

Avoid Luk Yu at Stanley Road

I visited the place with a friend and the bill came up to HKD431 and we only ordered 6 items! Each normal dish (3 pieces of siew mai, etc) costs HKD45, rice dish costs HKD98, chinese tea HKD64. These are about 4 times the norm. To put this into context: my previous mean at One Dim Sum was about HKD150 – much more items and taste much better.

The more I think about it, the more I feel that this restaurant is a scam. Overseas customers are ushered to the third floor whereas locals sit at the first and second floors. Menu does not indicate prices. They have a separate one for locals.

Avoid this place!

Do you know if the Tim Ho Wan location is now only in the IFC building? I heard the neighborhood one was closed down.

I so love dimsum, this little piece means “touch your heart”, this is why many hong kong people love dim sum. Anyway, I have to commend you with the list you provided, there’s really LOT of dim sum places in hong kong that can satisfy your taste buds!
