Just finished Dim Sum here at Maxim Palace City Hall branch. Queueing system was orderly and prompt, service staff were friendly and courteous. To my disappointment, the food was overrated and costly. I personally felt that this wasn’t worth my trip coming down from Causeway Bay to this much talked about Dim Sum place. There are a number of smaller establishments around that taste better and cost a fraction of the price at Maxim.

Hi, I am planning to visit Hongkong in late august, but Maxim’s Palace’s website seem to indicate the City Hall’ outlet is closed for renovation. You have any idea if its other outlet serve dim sum as well?

@Vanessa Hello! Usually they will push the dim sum carts around to ask if you want anything. In Maxim’s case, there are English names at the side of the cart. If not, just point at whatever you want to order. Everything is delicious!

Thank you for the wonderful post that makes me hungry! I’m just wondering how do you order from the cart? Things seem to be covered as they should be so how do you know which items are available? Sorry for the silly question, my family is visiting HK for the first time and none of us speaks Cantonese.
