A lot of things has been said about what is Malay food and what is Indonesian food. Truth is, most Malays in Singapore has roots in Java, Sumatra and all the Nusantara region even before Indonesia came into being. So to say it's Indonesian food is misleading since the dish was here way before Indonesia was created. In fact, I think regionally, only Singapore (Singapura) retains its ancient name.

I don't think our local hawker centers encourage "steamed veges" as n option for patrons. Even when I asked for more veges, they'll roll their eyes and ignore me.... haha.
So even if I can find a stall that sells boiled veges... it often cost more that the meal itself, which then defeats my purpose of eating in a hawker centre....on a budget of course. I'll pack some Japanese cucumbers from home if necessary or just eat more veges when I get home...

Why isn't YongTauHu in the list? My healthiest option when I visit the hawker as I can choose the healthiest ingredients myself....
And I'll eat chicken, duck rice without the additional sauces... that's where the bulk of the sodium comes from
