Completely agree. Getting to know new cultures, a different people, how they work and live is a huge learning. Those moments when one is homesick and suddenly realizes these “different” people are not so different after all is perhaps an “aha!” moment everyone must experience. As are those where you assume it’s all the same and realize you made a gigantic cultural faux pas. Makes one respect histories, cultures and our social upbringing so much more.
