Top gastropubs include the Harwood Arms, The Gun or Pantechnicon Rooms. If you can venture out of London then the Sportman, Hinds Head and Hand & Flowers are not often bettered.

Jamies Italian is a notch up from bog standard high street Italian but is still pretty average. If you want decent good value Italian then try Bocca di Lupo, Tinello or Zucca.
