after the novelty wears off and the hype blows over, let's see how long they can survive in an already overcrowded, competitive industry. What's more with their super pricey food ( that is over-hyped and reviews that are questionable), slow service and lacking in the level of the service one expects from a high end restaurant...... well folks, the writing may be on the wall already,

Economy is not looking up either, so.. one year later, let's see....

I also agree with the above two comments. This place is kidding itself the prices are astronomical and its run like a canteen....even the little service you do get ( like the the warmed food being delivered to your table after you have waited some time) is amateur. The coffee is expensive, crap and served in a paper cup and yes that is another cue you have to endure before you can sit down and try the $22 panini. They buy all of the pastry in from bakeries in singapore better off visiting those at half the price and with decent service ie. The baker & the chef

100% agree with "Food Critic" above there.

Management of the place is horrific & I don't think it's teething issues.

First, stand in line to order food. That too, without knowing if you're going to get a table or not.

I ordered a PRE-MADE sandwich which took 20minutes to prepare (heat up?). I stood there waiting with my soup for 20minutes. So now I had a cold soup to deal with.

At the end, was left with an average meal and a $60 bill (2 sandwiches, 1 soup, 1 small cappuccino)

Checked out what's the deal was for this famous NY cafe. Service for one thing is incredibly slow. There is no proper system for waiting customers. You have to queue up in a line for a table. Then after long time and you finally got a table, you need to get into another queue to buy your food and collect it if it is small items. I spent more time waiting and queuing than eating. While waiting for the food, they got the order wrong to someone else and have to wait extra. Spoke to the Manager, and was told they they are new here for a week, so they are not well prepared. As a professional well known brand in NY, certainly they have to get their act and management right way before operation. Being new is no excuse, especially in F&B industry and people have limited time to spend for lunch or a meal. For the least, the manager would do some "damage-control" by offering a little something, but, nope such initiative. Food quality is average, not something extra-ordinary.Out of 5, I would rate it 2.
