totally agree! esp when there is a need for “me” time =] been out and about travelling alone quite few time…enjoyed the experiences totally.

Totally love travelling alone! Ever since my first enriching trip to Chiangmai, i find myself planning for at least 1 solo trip a year.

I got to do the things I set out to do, the way I explore and in the process wore the trusty Lonely Planet map out. There were recommended hole-in-the-wall places in back alleys and plenty of rambling short-cuts which were absolutely a delight to stroll through.

One should make it a point to travel solo at least once!

I just done my first solo trip to Japan,Osaka & Kyoto in April. It’s was really “me time”. I will definitely do it again.

@Cinn Ignore people’s reaction. Whenever I say I am going on a solo adventure, people will give me the weird look as though I am a loner and have no friends. But they don’t understand how liberating it is to travel alone. The experience that you get is priceless. Plan your next trip soon : )

Vien, no worries. I just returned solo from Tokyo/Hakone in March and I made it!!!!

The daunting thing about solo is not the journey itself but the discouraging reaction from ppl ard me who are not open minded enough and thinks I’m crazy?

Thanks for writing this guide! This was really helpful! In a couple of weeks i am going to malaysia and singapore for a holiday. I am meeting some friends in singapore but i am doing the malaysia part of the trip solo so i will use this guide. I just need help with a good bak kut teh place in JB, do you know of any?
