On hindsight, I felt stupid for not reading the comments left by readers before heading up to the restaurant. Serves me right.

Firstly, the prices are not at all accurate. Everything has increased by 10-40%. Eggs Ben are now $16. Breakfast Set $20. Money grubbing opportunistic mgmt? Highlighted this discrepancy, no one bothered to action on it.

Waited 15min at the table and no staff came to take our orders. FYI, less then 15 pax in the restaurant at this juncture. I counted about 5 service staff on the floor. I literally had to walk to the bar counter to ask for assistance. Apparently, the service staff were more concerned counting the wine bottles in the cooler and arranging furniture then to serve existing customers in store. Ordered Eggs Ben & Mini Burgers. Was informed they were out of mini burgers. No matter. Changed it to a "Madame" (akin to breakfast sandwich). While tucking in, noticed another table were served mini burgers. Erm. Wtf much?

Food not worth for the new prices. Service was to the pits. Never again.

After reading the reviews I bookef a table for brunch for my husband and two yr old. We took a cab over to Skyve a bit out of the way for us much and not much in theneighborhood, apart from the complex where Skyve is, which is probably where they get all their business from. Anyway, we arrive and are offered a table in the lounge because the AC wasn't working in the dining and it was hot. The table they offered us was had a stool and a rocking chair. there's no way a 2 yr old is going to sit still and eat on a rocking chair, so we opted to sit at a table in the heat with a high chair (as booked )
After being seated we waited and waited to be given menus, no luck, I went to the bar got them myself. Then we had to wait even longer before I went to a waiter and asked him to take our order. We finally ordered and it was 30 minutes before we got the sparkling water we ordered. Our food slowly started to arrive after we complained hst everything was just taking waaay too long. I ordered the eggs Benedict sous vide which I asked for well done. They came practically raw, I sent them back to be cooked more and when they came back the second time they were still undercooked egg whites watery still. My husbands two mini burgers with an egg sunny side up were ok but his egg was also very undercooked with watery egg whites and there shouldve been a side of fries or something with the burgers, it just looked empty. My daughters plain pasta with cream sauce was ok, but how can u mess that up? We asked for our cappacinnos to arrive before the food, the came after the food and with my eggs being sent back we ended up eating at different times. The bathrooms had no napkins and the hand dryer was not working. The bin was overflowing with napkins. I've been in Singapore a little over a month and we love trying new places to eat for lunch, dinner and brunch every day. We try all kinds of cuisines and price ranges. Unfortunately Skyve has been the most poorly managed, place with the worst service we've been to in Singapore. Ithe menu is stuffy and complicated and overall the whole place is just trying too hard to be different or cool, but there is no substance. The areas that need dire attention are lacking in a detrimental way. Our waiter kept blaming the kitchen and bar for everything. He did apologize and even took the eggs off our bill (or atl east said he would but didn't and then took them off again when I reminded him) but the experience was frustrating and a waste of time and money. Other than trying to look cool on the surface, the place is a mess. I don't recommend it at all. In fact I would go as far as saying whoever owns the place is in the wrong business and should get out. Sorry that's harsh but an honest opinion based on a very objective experience and observation.

Well. Definitely agree it's a lovely ambience indeed. But my positive vibes about the place degenerated REALLY quickly.

(1) My companion & I were waiting for 3 friends (including a birthday girl) who were late & we could not start ordering / eating, seeing as it was a birthday celebration! So we asked for some bread, only to be told that they would serve ONLY AFTER we had ordered. Forced by circumstances, we ordered starters with strict instructions they were not to serve until friends had arrived and ordered.

(2) Bread rolls were small and we were starving, so we asked for a second serve. Only to be told they were CHARGEABLE. WTH! for the prices of the food, it simply isn't acceptable.

(3) Chateaubriand came with a side of potato / apple gratin, which was CRUNCHY AND COLD. Instant fail, for a dish which should be melty. The situation was exacerbated by the manager who insisted it was the apple in the gratin which made it crunchy. Someone worth his salt would have known if the apple was still crunchy after oven time, it would have meant the potato was probably close to undone.

(4) Same problem with my Ocean Trout side, so we asked for an exchange - which was met with a surly demeanour, and our server asked abruptly what we wanted. Really poor form and not at all what a good restaurant should behave.

(5) No apology, no smile when we asked for the bill, no attempt to rectify matters... the service was just awful.

There were a number of other incidents, including a 'blur' staff who turned up with the last main course, asking whose this was (there was clearly only 1 other person at the table with no food)...

Much too expensive; not worth the aggravation, not especially since there are so many other restaurants offering better food and much friendlier and genuine service.

Definitely NOT going back!
