Bought 6 cupcakes today at Clementi Mall. It was disappointing. Bland and dry. I also dislike their sugar balls, not sure what you call those,on top of their icing. I was there at 1155am, yet they’re not ready with only less than 10 cupcakes on the shelf. Will stick to twelve cupcakes now!

Bought mine today at Clementi Mall, a new outlet. The cupcakes were ok, not fantastic but I certainly didn’t feel love from the lady that sold it to me. To keep it short, she was obnoxious, unfriendly, impatient and not very helpful. So much for cupcake with love…. Eating the cakes didn’t make me feel any love. Would still go back to twelve cupcakes where they have friendlier and loving girls!

cupcakes are dry and icing is not appetizing at all. i don’t know if this review is a paid review. am not going back to this shop again.

try plain vanilla at holland.very yummy.you will never regret.only downside location not convenient.because laziness,i tried homemade red velvet from lescupcakes. haha surprisedbetter than some famous cupcakes shops.cakes very moist,soft&delicious.

Have you guys tried Swirls Bake Shop? I think they just opened this week.. Seriously amazing!!! Was walking by and randomly found them at Robertson Quay..for me its the best red velvet around so far :p YUM

Was horribly disappointed with the red velvet. Bought 7 cupcakes to taste test with fellow bakers and the verdict: Very pretty cupcakes without a punch in the mouth.

Red velvet is supposed to be light, fluffy, moist and almost velvety in texture with a complex flavour of cocoa, buttermilk and a delightful tang of cream cheese and sweet for the frosting. This version was dry, plain and all I could taste was salt.

The only good one was the chocolate chip which was generous with the chocolate, both outside and it. The others were just butter cupcakes stuffed with dried fruit( AND $3.80! to boot)which were disappointing.

I was just about to mention Twelve Cupcakes when reading your post but I guess Kirsten beat me to it. I had the Rocky Road (think it’s $3.50) and that was rich and satisfying. The usual ones are $3 if I don’t remember wrongly.

haha, adding colouring is the cheat way of baking red velvet. red velvet is actually red due to a chemical process between cocoa and acid (usually vinegar or lemon juice in the recipe). (:
