China’s most popular tea brand HEYTEA is opening its 4th and newest outlet at VivoCity on 9 January 2021. Fans of the bubble tea brand who are staying in the South in Singapore will no longer have to travel to town to get their bubble tea fix.

The original inventor of cheese tea, HEYTEA first started out as a humble tea shop in the Guangdong province in 2012. Since then, the brand has expanded to more than a hundred shops in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhen and Shenzhen.

The new VivoCity outlet is HEYTEA’s first-ever convenience store concept in Singapore, a first of its kind in Singapore. The new outlet mirrors the functionality of a convenience store not just in design, but with the launch of the HEYTEA GO app, which provides a fuss-free experience in ordering your favourite HEYTEA drink.

Prior to arriving at the store, you can skip the queue and log-on to the HEYTEA GO app to order in advance. The “Order On The Go” service, available at all stores, provides an estimated wait time and sends push notifications to notify customers when their drinks are ready for collection.

To celebrate the opening of HEYTEA’s at VivoCity, the store will be running a one-for-one deal on everything off the menu for a limited time from 9 January 2021 to 11 January 2021. There will also be free merchandise given out to the first 150 customers daily from 9 January 2021 to 13 January 2021.

HEYTEA Singapore has 3 other outlets at ION Orchard, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and Westgate.

One of the best Louisiana seafood restaurants in Singapore, Dancing Crab by TungLok Group is no stranger to us.

With an extensive menu and a huge range of seafood with guaranteed freshness, Dancing Crab is a perennial favourite and a family-friendly restaurant that is suitable for all sorts of occasions and celebrations.

Just when you need another reason to visit them again, we have good news for you – Dancing Crab is introducing a new lunch set menu with prices starting from S$11.90++. We’re in for this pocket-friendly deal, and so should you!

Let’s begin with their classics for they cannot be forgotten.

Get your hands dirty and messy with the Live Crab Combo (S$98++) that comes with 6 different sauces for you to choose from – Signature Cajun, Beurre Blanc, Salted Egg Yolk Butter Cream, Black Pepper, Zesty Garlic Butter and Chilli Crab.

Crack open the crab shells to bite into the plump and juicy pincers; so fresh that you can taste the natural sweetness! Together in the bag are sweet clams, prawns, corn and the slightly spicy chicken sausage for a hearty combination of flavours.

Black Pepper Crab (S$112++) is a well-loved dish amongst us Singaporeans and Dancing Crab has their own rendition of it! Get a mild kick of spice from the pepper and sweetness from the corn served along with the crabs.

This dish is definitely good for sharing between 3 to 5 pax. For S$112++, you get two big crabs of approximately 700g each.

The Moonshine Vodka Live Prawn (S$38++ for 500g, S$68++ for 1kg) is a fire show that is served table-side. Upon peeling the fresh prawns in your mouth, be prepared for a burst of vodka to hit you on your tongue that will awaken your senses.

Dip the prawns into the garlic chilli sauce to give it an extra punch that creates a great harmony of sweet and spicy.

A side dish to love is the Crab Cake (S$18.50++) and it is something we can never get sick of no matter how many times we’ve had it. Beneath the crunchy batter are hearty lumps of soft and flavourful crab meat.

It is creamy, savoury and especially scrumptious when paired with the ranch sauce served on the side.

You don’t have to travel to Ireland, France, Canada or Australia for fresh and plump oysters; you can find the best in the season from all over the world over at Dancing Crab.

Perfect as an appetiser before digging into the other saucy seafood dishes, make sure to squeeze the lemon generously over the oysters for some toothsome goodness.

The Duck, Waffle and Egg (S$22++) is a serving of duck confit alongside four quarters of fluffy waffles. You will love the crispy and flavourful duck skin! To complement the duck, pair it with the Salted Egg Yolk Sauce and drizzle it all over for a sweet and salty experience.

INTRODUCING THE NEW DANCING CRAB LUNCH SETS

With nothing over S$18.90++, you can indulge in seafood goodness without burning up a hole in your pocket.

Here are some exciting new set lunches that Dancing Crab will be offering.

First up, we have the Lobster Roll that is served with a side of Poached Rice in Lobster Bisque Soup (S$18.90++).

The lobster roll is your classic succulent lobster flesh stuffed in really good buttery toasted brioche buns; an absolute joy to have, we must say. And we really enjoyed the flavourful broth of the Poached Rice in Lobster Bisque Soup and could not stop reaching for more!

The Grilled Chicken Chop served with Beurre Blanc Sauce and Beignet on the side (S$11.90++) was a surprisingly delicious dish that we enjoyed very much albeit it not being a seafood dish.

The Beurre Blanc Sauce was so creamy and flavourful, there were crab meat shreds in it that added some textures and complemented the grilled chicken thigh so well.

Pasta la vista, baby! We would gladly sacrifice our no-carbs streak for this plate of Grilled Kuhlbarra Barramundi Fillet topped with Cajun Sambal Sauce, served alongside Tomato Linguine (S$14.90++).

The barramundi fillet was crispy on the outside with a firm texture on the inside, the pasta beautifully al dente, and when put together with the Cajun Sambal Sauce, it was really a great lunch dish.

We want lobster! No, we want to have fish! No, we want both lobster and fish!

Ok, we feel you. The Fried Kuhlbarra Barramundi and Linguine served in Lobster Bisque Soup (S$12.90++) is for you. Think a pasta dish in a light broth with strong lobster flavours and chunks of fresh seafood; ooh la la!

For all lunch sets, you have the option of topping up S$2++ for a fizzy and refreshing cup of the house-made Fizzy Lemonade. Now, are you ready for a good seafood lunch at Dancing Crab?

Gram—famous souffle pancakes from Japan—is coming to Singapore.

You’d probably have seen photos and boomerang videos of these fluffy pancakes on Instagram. They jiggle when you shake the plate, they really do. Gram Cafe & Pancakes will be opening in Singapore at VivoCity level 2 in June 2019.

The soufflé pancakes come in a stack of three thick pieces. The cream-coloured goodie is cooked to order and served warm, and freshness is guaranteed. This means you should tuck into it right after taking your photos and boomerang videos.

And yes, they do live up to the hype. It is not just a marketing gimmick as you might see it as. Well, we admit we were sceptical too but hell, were we proven wrong!

In Japan, Gram Cafe & Pancakes serves only 20 soufflé pancakes at these three timings—11am, 3pm & 6pm. It is not clear if Gram Cafe & Pancakes Singapore will have the same approach.

Nayuki has finally reached our sunny shores and we bet you are as excited as we are!

Priding themselves on serving high-quality brews alongside whacky soft Euro breads, Nayuki isn’t just another typical cheese tea store that is hopping onto the bandwagon of food fads.

An extremely popular brand in China that has already been around for more than three years, Nayuki is said to pioneer the concept of pairing Euro-inspired bakes with fresh fruit blend premium teas. Their success has led them to open dozens of outlets across mainland China. Since its beginning in 2015, this Shenzhen-born brand has opened an over 180 stores, earning themselves the reputation of “The Nayuki Veloci-tea” due to their rapid expansion.

A joint venture between Shenzhen Pindao and BreadTalk Group, this is Nayuki’s very first outlet outside of China. And it is right here in Singapore!

Nayuki is set to open at Vivocity tomorrow, 8th December 2018. You’d also be glad to hear that as part of their opening, Nayuki will be giving away one free bread with every purchase of a drink (while stocks last!).

Here is what you can expect!

SUPREME CHEESE FRUIT TEA

Nayuki Singapore will offer just 3 flavours for the Supreme Cheese Fruit Tea Series: Supreme Cheese Strawberry (S$8.30), Supreme Cheese Mango (S$7.90) and Supreme Cheese Grape (S$7.90).

For first-timers, we highly recommend you to get their signature Supreme Cheese Strawberry. Having consistently been the top-seller in its cheese fruit tea range, this beverage is the very one that spurred the brand into investing in a strawberry field. Atop the drink is a velvety blend of cheese derived from New Zealand cheese blocks, adding a tinge of saltiness to the refreshing beverage.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Nothing screams party food like Crab Nachos (S$12++). The portion of nachos is generous, making it great for sharing and is best paired with cold booze. Other Dancing Crab Classics to look out for include Popcorn Shrimp Po’ Boy (S$15++) and Lobster Roll (S$29.90++).

SINGLE PLATES

Thinking of dropping by for a quick meal during lunch? Dancing Crab has got that covered with their rice and pasta dishes which come in a wide array of flavours.

Pasta “Goreng” (lunch – S$12++, dinner – S$15++) is a mee goreng inspired dish. The fried noodles are replaced with traditional spaghetti and we applaud the chef’s creativity in infusing local spices together with the pasta and seafood ingredients.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Fans of Aglio Olio should not skip Dancing Crab’s Seafood Aglio Olio (lunch – S$12, dinner S$15++)—what you get is a plate of warm, buttery pasta with fresh seafood such as prawn, clams, mussels and calamari.

Originating from coastal South Carolina and Georgia, Shrimp and Grits (lunch – S$15++, dinner – S$17++) is an iconic Southern dish. While it looks like a simple recipe, the rich and creamy grit received many praises from all of us at the table.

FROZEN BEER IN SEVEN FLAVOURS

Nothing goes better with seafood than a mug of ice-cold beer. But why stop at one when you can have seven different flavours?!

Options include French Vanilla, Mango, Lychee, Watermelon, Wild-berry, Bubblegum for the adventurous and Plain for those who simply prefer the classic taste of beer. Mix and match any four flavours for S$32++.

MASSIVE ICE CREAM SUNDAE TO END YOUR MEAL WITH A BANG

The kid in us was screaming in delight when we saw this massive ice cream sundae which can easily feed more than 5 people!

Layers upon layers of ice cream, marshmallow and strawberries are piled on top of each other to build this outrageous ice cream sundae. That is not all—it is then topped off with more ice cream cones, waffles, creamy whipped cream and strawberries.

If you were a #90skid, Mini Melts is probably a name you are familiar with. Known for their adorable, molecular ice cream, the brand has just recently returned to Singapore after being gone for years.

The kaleidoscopic ice cream isn’t just cute, it’s also super Instagram-worthy. Some of the flavours currently available include Double Chocolate, Rainbow Ice, Cookies & Cream, Cotton Candy, Cheesecake and Strawberry Milk, all of which come in rainbow, pastel hues.

Quote ladyironchef or flash this post to enjoy Mini Melts Big at S$2.90 with any purchase at Mini Melts.

It is the tiniest ice cream on earth, and is made with natural ingredients, frozen in liquid nitrogen to create the milky, creamy texture that literally melts in the mouth. No prizes for guessing how the brand came up with its name.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

Mini Melts is all about fun-size ice cream in a rainbow of colours. It is the smallest nitrogen ice cream in the world. Imported from Korea, every grain is made with fresh and natural ingredients that are frozen instantly using liquid nitrogen at -195 degrees. And unlike typical ice cream, Mini Melts’ ice cream does not have any air whipped into it. What you get is beautifully creamy grains that are naturally flavoured.

Sitting on the basement level of Vivo City, Mini Melts has opened its doors with a new iconic cap bowl, which is definitely our pick! With 7 flavours to anticipate, which are Double Chocolate, Rainbow Ice, Cookies & Cream, Cotton Candy, Cheesecake, Strawberry Milk, and Lemon Lime, you would definitely pick the cap bowl so you can enjoy two flavours at a time!

The most classic has to be Double Chocolate, which features rich chocolate and vanilla. But what we would do with our combo cap is Cookies & Cream and Rainbow Ice, so that we get a knack for sweeter flavour and also a tropical delight!

When the news came that Jamie Oliver is opening a restaurant in Singapore – the first Jamie’s Italian in Asia – the hype about it was overwhelming and unbelievably crazy. Jamie Oliver is a household name, and arguably one of the most famous British chefs in the world. The arrival of his restaurant in Singapore further emphasises Singapore’s position as a dining destination in Asia.

Jamie’s Italian Singapore officially opens its door at Vivo City today, and here are some of the highlights that you can expect from Jamie Oliver’s new restaurant.

As with all the Jamie’s Italian restaurants around the world, the menu is extensive, with offerings of antipasti, pasta and risotto dishes, and main courses that are hearty and rustic.

The Planks – platters of meat and fish – are a great way to start, especially if you are in a big group. The Meat Plank (S$15.50/pax) consists of cured meats, cheeses, pickles and a crunchy salad. We also sampled the Fish Plank (S$17/pax), a seafood version with an assortment of beetroot-cured salmon, roasted shellfish, smoked mackerel pate and delicious fritto misto, which tastes great with yuzu mayo.

If you are a fan of olives, you should also go for their World’s Best Olives on Ice (S$7.50). The other starter that we had was the Baked Mushrooms (S$12.50). It was decent, but nothing to write home about. The Crispy Squid (S$11.50) and Crispy Stuffed Risotto Balls (S$11.50) sound promising, and we would probably get them the next time.

At Jamie’s Italian, pastas are made fresh in-house daily, and they are naturally one of the highlights. The best part is that they come in two portions – a smaller serving which is meant to be an appetiser, and the regular size as a main course – which gives you the option of getting more dishes for sharing.

The most popular pasta on the menu is the Prawn Linguine (S$17/25) with fried garlicky prawns. But while we have not tried this, we have to give mentions to the Tagliatelle Bolognese (S$15/22) – which we had when we were in Jamie’s Italian London previously, and it is surely one dish not to be missed because this classic pasta is so satisfying.

We could not resist ordering the Wild Truffle Risotto (S$16/24.50). It was excellent, with subtle taste of the finely chopped truffle lingering on the tongue. We had this same dish at London and much to our surprise, we felt the Singapore’s version was significantly more impressive. Also good was the Jools’ Favourite Sicilian Tuna Fusilli (S$14/21), which is apparently the must-have dish for Jools (Jamie Oliver’s wife) whenever she is at the restaurant. We loved how the herby breadcrumbs added an extra texture to the flavourful pasta with slow-cooked tuna, tomatoes, garlic, and herbs.

Other pastas on the menu include the Pasta Alla Norma (S$12.50/19), Penne Arrabbiata (S$12.50/19), Black Angel Spagehtti (S$16/24.50), and Sausage Pappardelle (S$16/24).

Among the main courses, you might be tempted by the Veal Flash Steak (S$32.50) and The Jamie’s Italian Wagyu Burger (S$27.50). One of the exclusive dishes for Jamie’s Italian Singapore is the Pink Snapper Acqua Pazza (S$32). While it was not out-of-the-world-good, it was a pleasantly comforting dish that you can eat on a regular basis – which is exactly what Jamie Oliver is known for.

Sweet treats such as Tutti Frutti Lemon Meringue Pie (S$11.50) and the Sour Cherry Bakewell (S$9.50) were decent, but not particularly outstanding.

But what we really loved were the Tiramisu (S$11.50) and Panna Cotta (S$9). The former – a strong and intense coffee-flavoured triffle with orange mascarpone and chocolate, and the latter – a simple and well-made dessert which is rich and creamy yet not overly sweet, exactly how a good panna cotta should be. We dare say it is one of the better renditions in town.

Jamie’s Italian takes reservations, but from what we understand, it is already fully-booked for the next few weeks. So, the only way is to try your luck for a table as walk-in guests.

While Jamie Oliver is a household name and brand, expectations are naturally developed and raised. However, one pointer that you may want to take note of prior to your visit to the inaugural Asian outlet – Jamie’s Italian is positioned to be a casual Italian restaurant, catering to the masses with fuss-free cuisine of rustic and homely pastas. Definitely not the posh fine-dining establishment that many might be expecting across all Jamie Oliver’s restaurants.

I like Jamie’s Italian and I think it blends in perfectly with Singapore’s local food scene. I would not be surprised if they were to open more branches in Singapore in the near future, and eventually in the rest of Asia.

Tanjong Beach Club (TBC) by the Lo & Behold Group is the perfect place to escape from the city and enjoy a day of sun, sand and sea. It has a restaurant (The Dining Room), a bar and a pool facing the beach.

The Dining Room at Tanjong Beach Club offers a unique beach dining experience, and after dinner, you can laze by the pool and enjoy a Tanjong Martini with truffle fries. The beach house at Sentosa is modern, sexy and definitely the place to see and be seen.

The crowd at Tanjong Beach Club is quite diverse. From the beach goers in cargo shorts, bikinis and flip flops, lazing by the pool side during the weekends; to young working executives on a romantic dinner date; to well-heeled cliente with an appreciation for the finer things in life – there is a good mix of crowd.

Since it was a Friday night, we had a glass of champagne each. Actually, even if it wasn’t a Friday night, I’d still have a glass of champagne.

As usual, we had a hard time trying to decide on the dishes. So we took the easy way out and asked for recommendations. On my own, I probably would not order a salad, but the Bean Salad ($19) came highly recommended so we started with that.

We followed up with the Salt-cured Foie Gras ($27), which I thought was pretty cool. The goose liver was served with toasted brioche, kaya and house-made jam. Eaten together, the cold foie gras combination was quite amazing. But I would very much prefer to have pan seared foie gras.

The best, however, had yet to come – we had the freaking awesome truffle fries. Having heard so much about Tanjong Beach Club’s popular bar snack – which my friend proclaimed as the best truffle fries in Singapore – I wasn’t prepared to leave the place without trying it.

The bar menu isn’t available in the dining room, and vice versa. Still, we managed to convince the waitress to serve us the truffle fries while waiting for the rest of the appetisers to be served.

The dining room at Tanjong Beach Club has a good mix for its main course menu. We were tempted by the Crispy Atlantic Cod ($42) and the Spicy Crab Spaghetti ($32); while the Roasted Kurobuta Pork ($43) and Asparagus Risotto ($26) also called out to us. We eventually settled for the Maine Lobster Pot Pie ($58) and USDA Prime New York Strip Steak ($58).

Encased by flaky pastry crust, the lobster pot pie was quite a visual treat for the senses. We watched as the waitress poked a hole into the crust and unearthed the lobster from within. It was like digging for treasure!

The USDA Prime New York Strip Steak ($58) came with potato puree, roasted mushroom, and smoked eggplant. It was a gorgeous piece of meat, but unfortunately, it was way too salty.

We used the elimination method to choose our desserts. Since we weren’t keen on the Mixed Berry Bowl and ice cream, it was down to the Coconut Panna Cotta ($14), Chocolate Ganache Tart ($16) and Tea & Honey Parfeit ($14). We decided to leave the Panna Cotta for another day and had the other two desserts to end off the meal.

I thought that the Chocolate Ganache Tart – which was accompanied by salted candied hazelnuts, butterscotch sauce and vanilla bean ice cream – was pretty fabulous.

The Tea & Honey Parfeit ($14) came in a pretty glass of earl grey crémeux, honey ice cream, house-made honeycomb and chocolate crisp.

The Dining Room at Tanjong Beach Club (TBC) is a great option if you want a nice romantic dinner away from the city. The food is not out-of-this-world good, so don’t come here expecting a life-changing experience. Instead, come here if you want a unique beach-dining experience. The TBC, is after all, one of the few Beach restaurants in Singapore.

I will definitely go back for brunch during weekends.

I’ll be honest. My visit to Ximending Taiwanese Restaurant at Vivocity was a disappointment. The food that we had was pretty good, but the service from the manager was atrocious.

If you have been reading my blog, I’m sure you’d know that I only blog about restaurants that give a positive dining experience. I always believe that bloggers must be responsible, and not publish any accusations which might potentially hurt somebody. Restaurants are running a business afterall, and it is difficult to please everyone since we all have different likings.

That said, I decided to blog about this because we enjoyed the food, though, it was a shame that we didn’t exactly had a great time overall.

Right from the start when we first took the menu, the manager persistently persuaded us to go for the pricier items though we had politely refused and specified we only wanted those that we ordered. After placing our order, we asked for ice water and he told us that they only serve it upon request. And again, he tried to convince us to order from the drinks menu. He reluctantly served us ice water after we told him repeatedly and firmly that we didn’t want any drinks from the menu.

Anyway, back to the food. Ximending restaurant’s menu (most dishes are under $20) has quite a few options, and it took us a while before deciding on what to order.

We tried the Taiwanese Salt & Pepper Chicken – a popular Taiwanese street food; Radish & Egg Pancake ($10) – a must-try dish to go along with Taiwanese porridge; and the signature Taiwanese Three Cup (san bei) Chicken ($17.9). We also ordered the Stewed Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables ($9.9), but they only informed us that it was sold-out after we’ve almost finished all our food.

All in all, Ximending restaurant has pretty good Taiwanese food at decent prices, but the service was a let-down. Given that we do not have many Taiwanese restaurants in Singapore, the only places to satisfy my cravings for Taiwanese food are Shin Yeh restaurant at Liang Court, I love Taimei, 4 Season Taiwanese Cuisine (formerly Peng Lai Ge), and Oasis Taiwan Porridge Restaurant.

I don’t think I will re-visit Ximending restaurant again. How about you? Would you go back to a restaurant (with good food) if the service was bad?

Words by Missim | Photography by ladyironchef

Specialising in Heng Hwa cuisine, Putien Restaurant has quickly expanded from its flagship restaurant at Kitchener road to a restaurant chain with 8 outlets in Singapore: Vivocity, Marina Square, Parkway Parade, Jurong Point, Tampines Mall, City Square Mall and nex.

Putien restaurant has recently launched a new Summer menu. The seasonal dishes are mostly light and refreshing ingredients to complement the warm and humid weather.

The first few dishes that came were little light starters to whet your appetite. The Organic Momotaro Tomato ($4.90) from their Summer Menu came in nice thick juicy slices. There was powdered sugar topping over it which I like! Anything that is coated with sugar is wonderful.

The Iced Bitter Gourd ($5.90), on the other hand, was not much to my liking. Don’t get me wrong. I love bitter gourds in fish slice bee hoons, fried with eggs and what not. But not serving it with a chock-full of ice and eating it cold. It reminded me of carbonated water. I can never get used to the weird mix of coldness and the slight bitterness. Even the honey (which you are supposed to dip the bitter gourd into) did not help at all.

Pretty though.

My second favourite meal from the dinner! Snails, I absolutely loved sucking on the tiny little shells. I was even sucking on them after dessert was cleared! My only complaint for the Sauteed Sea Snails with Hua Diao Wine ($13.90) will be that the snails are awfully tiny. They look much bigger on the menu.

A few more dishes came and went but they did not leave a huge impression on me. And finally, the very famous Putien Lor Mee ($7.9/$15.9/$23.9). The first thing that strikes you is the very light coloured gravy. There was also an interesting mix of ingredients like prawns and clams. I took a tentative spoonful of mian and gravy. Man, it was yummy as hell. How yummy? I’m not too sure. I just remember clearing up my bowl and going for seconds and more and more till every last drop of gravy was slurped up completely.

Putien Restaurant serves reasonably good food at reasonable prices. With 8 branches in Singapore, it is a very convenient place for families to drop by for dinner.

There are many restaurants in Vivocity, but I always find it hard to decide on what to eat. I’ve announced on twitter that I wanted to try all the Vivo City restaurants, so as to do a guide on where to eat in Vivocity.

My friend was craving for sushi and sashimi that day, so we settled on a Japanese Restaurant for lunch. Shin Kushiya Japanese Charcoal Grill has been around since 2006, and they currently have four outlets in Singapore: Serangoon Gardens, Suntec City, Far East Square and Vivocity.

The Japanese Restaurant specialises in charcoal-grilled skewers, with choices of chicken, pork, beef, lamb, seafood, and vegetable. Prices range from $2 for a stick of Yakitori, to $3.8 for prime beef, and $9.8 for lamb chop. Besides charcoal-grilled skewers, Shin Kushiya also has the typical Sushi, Sashimi, Agemono, and Udon on their menu.

The executive set lunch ($29.80) comprises salmon sashimi, chawanmushi, Japanese salad, assorted tempura, sushi selection, appetiser, soup and dessert of the day.

We shared three skewers: Yakitori ($1.9), Chizu Maki ($2.8) and Gyu Karubi ($3.8). My favourite was definitely the Chizu Maki – Mozzarella cheese wrapped with thinly-sliced pork. We also like the succulent and tender prime beef stick. The Yakitori, on the other hand, was fairly decent, nothing much to shout about.

Most of the items on Shin Kushiya’s menu are reasonably priced, and their Japanese food is competent. I can definitely see myself coming back if I’m having dinner in Vivocity.
