What determine whether a dish is good? There are several factors, the freshness of the ingredients itself, the skill of the chef, and of course the sauces that are used in cooking the food. Sauces are vital to the overall taste of the dish, in simple terms, they helped to “colour up” and enhanced the food.

What will you say if chili crabs are served without the thick and spicy gravy sauce, or how about your burger without any mayo sauce? These are some simple examples, but i’m sure you got the idea. Village Wok Restaurant is a showroom for The Village Wok sauce room. Their core business is actually being a sauce distributor, and the restaurant itself is the place for their customers to sample the sauces.

Peach Garden Chinese Restaurant @ OCBC Centre 33rd Floor is co-owned by Angela Ho and Veronica Tan, former managers of the established Hua Ting restaurant. The pair struck out on their own in 2002, and the rest like they say, were history. Peach Garden is now one of the Chinese restaurants on the radar of corporates.

Located at the 33rd floor, the restaurant offers diners a splendid bird’s eye view of the Singapore River and the city area.

Playing the Nintendo Wii console, having a big television screen is definitely a bonus, and luckily for us, Steward’s TV is certainly in the “big” league. We went to his house after lunch at Pine Valley. I know this post has totally nothing to do with food, but just bear with me for a while. I thought the Wii is quite interesting, so here goes this post

Hotpot Culture at Marina Square is a steamboat restaurant (just in case you can’t tell from the name). Although its a steamboat restaurant, there are many variety of cooked food to choose from the menu, in contrast, i thought the steamboat selection seems less when compared to the cooked food variety.

The food for the steamboat wasn’t that great, and the usual suspects for steamboat are there. While for the cook food selection, order your picks with the staff, and they will serve it to you warmly cooked. Everybody gets a mini-pot for their steamboat, and we hit a problem here. The thing that they used for the fire for the hot, when it is lit-up, it created a funny sensation in the eye, which i’ll say isn’t pleasant at all.

Have you ever go into a Italiano restaurant, and all of a sudden feel ordering ALL the food available on the menu?

All you look is at the food, without even giving the price tag a glance?

Feeling excited, we might as well tell the waiter to serve EVERY dish they have on the menu!

That’s precisely what happen to us when we went to Al Dente Pronto.

Ahh.. You are confuse now right? Is the food so good that we wanted to order all the dishes? Alas, that’s not quite the raison d’être.

The explication for our extravagant & exaggerated behavior is because … …

We had a 50% discount coupon from OCBC. Yes, you didn’t see wrongly, half price for a la carte items during lunch & dinner, up to a table of 4 persons. Dinner was with the Yebbers. So everything we look at, we can only see half the price, and of course this makes it affordable and worry-free to order whatever we like. So we ordered mostly the more expensive dishes : )
