I went to Hort Park, the gardening hub last Saturday and took some pictures with the new lens, 50mm F1.8. This post won’t be a food-related review, so if you are at LIC for just the food, do bear with it. Hort park is a nice place for families and love ones to go to, for some fresh air and a glimpse of nature. Who say there’s no gardens in Singapore?

There are many unfortunate people around the world, who need our help. Those that were born to this world with disabilities, those that were abandoned by their parents from young, those that were imprint with diseases the moment they enter this world. With the recent fiascos in our local charity scene, namely the NKF, and Ren Ci saga, I believe Singaporeans faith in the establishments are shaken, and donations have greatly reduced.

But we should not abandon those who need our help, just because of a few black sheep. This children’s day, 1 Oct 2008, needy children in Cambodia born with cleft facial deformities will have reasons to smile. In celebration of Hock Lam Beef’s 97th Anniversary, the renowned eatery at Far East Square, well known for its traditional beef broth will be partnering Operation Smile Singapore to donate all proceeds of the day and operating costs to provide life-changing treatments and surgeries for children in Cambodia born with facial deformities.

Safra Yishun country club, take a 15mins walk from Yishun MRT, LIC had the opportunity to visit the place last week and took some photos, so i thought i’ll share them and for people who have never visit any Safra around our island yet.
