Now back to business, ladyironchef is again, proud to tell you that my food outing event is here again! I know i’ve mentioned after my last outing at Tetsu that i’ll do another one during August, but it had been a few hectic months for me until now. So sorry for the delay!

I went to Hort Park, the gardening hub last Saturday and took some pictures with the new lens, 50mm F1.8. This post won’t be a food-related review, so if you are at LIC for just the food, do bear with it. Hort park is a nice place for families and love ones to go to, for some fresh air and a glimpse of nature. Who say there’s no gardens in Singapore?

To all share-readers of ladyironchef

I have updated the list of restaurants that I’m interested in, and also included the links of the places that i have been to for the month of October. You can view it by clicking on “Gourmet Roll” tab at the top of the page!

October has been a long and difficult month for me, and this is the last crucial stage. After this, November beckons, and it’ll be a new beginning. I’ll like to apologise for the food outing events which i had mentioned, but did not materalised because of time constraint.

There will be LIC events coming up in November, food and dessert outings, details will be out soon, so do stay tune for it. Another thing which excites me will be learning to bake. That will also have to wait until November. Hope you guys eat well, and if there’s any enquiries or feedback, do leave a comment or send a email to bradleyfk@gmail.com

Cheers
Brad

Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 micro was what i wanted, but Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 was what i got. Why, you asked the three letter word, economics I replied you my answer. Looking at what the macro lens from Vicki’s and Evan’s can do, i was sorely tempted indeed.

There are many unfortunate people around the world, who need our help. Those that were born to this world with disabilities, those that were abandoned by their parents from young, those that were imprint with diseases the moment they enter this world. With the recent fiascos in our local charity scene, namely the NKF, and Ren Ci saga, I believe Singaporeans faith in the establishments are shaken, and donations have greatly reduced.

But we should not abandon those who need our help, just because of a few black sheep. This children’s day, 1 Oct 2008, needy children in Cambodia born with cleft facial deformities will have reasons to smile. In celebration of Hock Lam Beef’s 97th Anniversary, the renowned eatery at Far East Square, well known for its traditional beef broth will be partnering Operation Smile Singapore to donate all proceeds of the day and operating costs to provide life-changing treatments and surgeries for children in Cambodia born with facial deformities.

LIC had the opportunity to attend Cool Rhino product launch at Eski bar last week. Despite never visiting Eski bar before, i had friends who went before, so i roughly figured out it’ll be cold, like the name implied anyway. The place was intended at Eski bar, since it’s the “coolest” bar around, which fitted in rightly with the theme of the event, Cool Rhino!

Ever since i was raving about my dim sum a while ago, i’m not one who rest on one’s laurel. Wah Lok, Royal China, Zhou’s Kitchen, and of course many more to come! But after reflecting on my past posts, i only realised that i’ve been neglecting my other love, i’m refering to cakes and desserts of course.

A look back, the last time i’ve a decent piece of cake was probably way back during July at Caffe Beviamo, and Eden. Now now, that won’t do right, especially for a cake lover like me. I know i know, i have been saying for ages since stone-age that i want to go to Canele, but when’s that post gonna come out you ask?
