Board Game Cafe Singapore

While club and booze can make you high (temporarily), chilling out with good friends over board games are more satisfying to me. Maybe it’s just me getting old, but I really feel that when there’s no need to scream your head off just to ask your friend a simple question, it makes me happier already! I had a really good time hanging out with dweam and monoxious at Settlers Cafe.

As much as we enjoyed our time that night, I must say all the Board Games Cafes in Singapore have really complicated packaging system. To be fair, I tried to do a comparison using the minimum board game hours with free flow drinks.

Here’s a list of the Board Games Cafe in Singapore:

De Coders Cafe

De Coders cafe used to be located at Balmoral Plaza, where Waffles Town is. But they have since shifted to Clementi, so unless you are staying in the West – this is a little out of the way. But hey, it’s good news for my fellow Westies! Their ‘Merry night’ package is pretty value for money: it’s only $12 for 4 hours of gaming from 6pm – 10pm with free flow of drinks.

Pitstop Cafe

The packages that Pitstop cafe offers are really mind boggling, and it’s not a good thing. While the different packages allow customers flexibility, it can be quite an headache to choose one of them.

Soup of the day & 2 hours of gaming at $7.90/pax (extension at $2/hr)

Board Games Cafe

Settlers Cafe

We spent around $20 per person for some finger food, and 3 hours of gaming. The board game shop at North Canal road is reasonably spacious and easily accessible as it’s just a 5 minutes walk from Clark Quay.

2 hour of board-gaming at $9.90/pax with free flow drinks (extension at $3.50/hr)

The Mind Cafe

If you are free during the afternoon, The Mind Cafe with four outlets in Singapore may be just the place to go. Their Mind Happy Hour allows you to enjoy 4 hours of board-gaming at only $5/pax with free flow of drinks. This is only available on weekdays from Monday to Friday.

Other than the pricing and food, I think that the atmosphere within the cafe, as well as the recommendations of games from the staff are very important. I think I am really addicted to playing board games! Which board games cafe in Singapore do you recommend?

Have you heard of Play Nation? They have boardgames and console games as well! It’s a pretty cool place.
